Crossfade option isn't working on the desktop app.

We've received reports that the Crossfade feature isn't working correctly on the desktop app. No matter how many seconds are being added, it won't work and after returning to the settings page, it's set to a random amount of seconds.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to inform you that this should now be fixed! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you still don't see the change, try the following:

  1. Open Spotify, turn the Crossfade off and then restart Spotify.
  2. Turn the Crossfader back on and change the value.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Not working here

2 temporary work-arounds: set it to 12, toggle on and off if needed. should
work at 12 --only. OR play from your mobile app if possible, as it's xfade
still functions

Please fix it ASAP. We use it in our Gym every day, and need the Crossfade slider on exactly 10 sec. So, this is really important.

Desktop.

Windows 10.

Crossfade hasn't worked in at least 60 hours.

Same erroneous messages as others (i.e. 6 figure digits, both positive and negative).

Should be the latest and greatest version of Spotify, as I've scrubbed and reloaded on all of my devices twice in an effort to fix the problem.

Not working on my Windows 10 desktop app.

Everytime I set a cross fade number nothing happens and when I go back it’s on a crazy number like -2010086, but no cross fade happens at all.

Good Morning!

I've been searching and I found a way to fix this to the original setup before Spotify fix this.

First you want to go to your Spotify folder:

C:\Users\URUSER\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Users\USER-Numbers

after that you guys need to delete everything inside of that folder and re-open spotify then go to "PREFERENCES" Menu on Spotify (CTRL+P) and hit the option "SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS" > when that happens just make sure you hit the CROSSFADE OPTION BUT DO NOT CHANGE THE SECONDS. *if it doesn't fix re-do and DO NOT MOVE THE BAR ON SECONDS DO NOT CLICK ON IT*

Hope I could've helped everyone. Cya 🙂

For now, until the bug is fixed, you can set xfade to 12, and 12 only. You
may also need to toggle the xfade on and off. Also, if applicable, you can
play directly from the mobile app, which still has a working xfade.
