Custom Order sorting option missing inside folders

We’ve recently received reports from users noticing that the Custom Order sorting option is missing inside folders on both Android and iOS.

It's disappointing that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Like I said in my posts, why on earth is the Helpdesk asking which version of Android you're using, and which phone you have? Or are even they unaware of what's going on with regard to functionality?

It is no surprise Spotify wants us to listen to whatever we just listened to to ensure a more mainstream use of the platform. All those useless algorithm based playlists where they constantly want us to check out something we just listened to rather than listen to a lot of different stuff all the time. 

But if they actively want us to stop listening in the order WE have decided to listen, then why haven't they removed custom order everywhere

It's crazy that this is even an issue to begin with. "Custom Order" was a feature on mobile devices -- why remove it? It's not like we're asking for a brand new feature. And it's even crazier there's virtually no communication in this thread from Spotify regarding this issue.

Yes, the lack of communication is absolutely the craziest part, and feels very disrecpectful and purposeful.

So I'm asking once again, any moderator, anybody from Spotify - can you please provide us with an update on this issue? It may not be important to you, but it is important to a large number of your customers. I hope that would count for something.

A new version of the app was just released and you should notice some improvements with it. Just make sure to update the app following the steps listed on this page - it should be at least 9.1.36.

Thank you so much for following up with this. Will it be rolling out in phases? I am using version 9.1.34.2060 and when I go to Spotify in the Google play store it says there are no updates available

I am also using version 9.1.34.2060 (Google Play on Android) and don't see any update yet for a 9.1.36 version.

Those instructions are for the desktop version. On Android I just have to wait for the auto update.

But now I have moved around 50 playlists outside their folder, which should be sufficient for a few days. 😛

It worked! I'm on Android, it just now updated. Custom order in folders is back!!!!!! Thank you God and jesus
