[Desktop] Spotify won't resume after pause with bluetooth headphones

I'm unable to resume after i pause the music for a few minutes with my headphones over bluetooth.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app and all devices fully up-to-date.

Thanks!

The strangest part is that i receive an Spotify update almost every week. I wonder what those updates do or fix.

They are actually busy to criticize artists about their release pace in order to improve their business model.

On 9/26/2020, I posted regarding this issue, and checked the "Email me when someone replies" box with the foolish conviction that a fix would soon be forthcoming, and such emails would quickly alert me when it had arrived.  Having learned otherwise, I attempted to edit my post, thinking I could merely uncheck the box, and prevent further cluttering of my inbox.  Silly me.

I'm going to try actually editing the comments themselves; perhaps that will end the stream of what is effectively spam.  Meanwhile, I thought I would grumble about it here, for the benefit of those newly-arrived to this thread, and let them know they shouldn't expect much help.

Good god. This issue hasn't been solved for 3 years? Are you people actually this incompetent or do you just not give a rat's a**? I guess that's what happens when you own 40% of the market share. What a joke.

That's what I am doing, they answer pretty fast. If we all do it, they will maybe start checking this issue.........

Why is this issue still being worked on? It's been going on for more than 5 years. Here is the error on my MacBook...

As you can see from the top bar, I'm connected to WiFi. The error happens (not always) after my MacBook is sleeping without closing Spotify. To fix the error I mus always restart Spotify.

I'm also experiencing this very annoying issue. I did't realize it has something to do with bluetooth headphones till I saw this thread. I'm using Macbook pro + Sony WH-1000XM3. When spotify is unable to start playing a song and I turn off the headphones it starts playing again without need of restarting spotify.

Also experiencing this issue on macbook Air with MagicBoxII bluetooth speaker. Switching between audio output devices allows the song to play on internal speakers. In order to get it to play through bluetooth I have to close and reopen spotify. Pretty annoying.

Same issue here. I don't listen for music with MacBook Air speaker, only using bluetooth headset, so this problem repeats every time my laptop sleeps and awakes. So i need to quit and open spotify app several times a day.

As I see 1 year passed. I am confusing why Spotify can't fix this issue for such a long time considering how many developers they have.

BTW: This issue is very frustrating.

Same problem, MacBook Pro, Catalina, both my QC35 and Sony 1000XM4.

Pause spotify, play youtube video, finished watching, resume spotify -> blue error message on top, forced to restart Spotify.. have to do it multiple times a day, dont even know why im still paying the subscription..
