Playback stops after playing few songs on Echo devices

We've received multiple reports where repeat stops working & playback pauses after a few songs on Amazon Echo devices.

Hey there folks,

We've checked with our teams and this should now be fixed for everyone 🙂

Make sure that your Echo device is up-to-update, should you still experience issues. You can do this by asking Alexa for an update with the voice command - "Alexa, check for updates".

If the above doesn't do the trick, and the issue persists, we recommend that you create a new thread on our Help Board, so we can look into it further.

Cheers!

I live in Europe and this still happens, I actually think now it may be worse. This is really annoying and doesn't seem to be fixed at all.

@cades1   Yup, I have to agree with you, if others are still reporting the same issue continuing then this should not be marked as resolved by Spotify. 🖐

Have you noticed that Spotify have done an ostrich and buried their heads in the Sahara? 🐓 (they don't appear to have an emoji of an ostrich!)

Not only do they seem to be rather slow (glacial even!) with the rollout of the patch, they have outstandingly failed to respond to the question of what compensation they intend to offer their subscribers, way to go Spotify.

It would have been so nice to receive some good, old-fashioned "Customer Serviice" rather than the long spells of silence (a bit like the current ongoing problem!) and some interaction or dialogue going with them regarding their shoddy treatment of all users, and especially those of us who pay for a "Premium" Service......Oh dear, if this is their idea of Premium then I dread to think what they might call a cheaper service and what they might offer! Perhaps the unofficial title for Premium Service is "Mediocre"? 😁

I know it's all too easy to sit back and write us off as being keyboard warriors but if they can't or won't provide the service they advertise then they should be compensating us.

Perhaps it's time to invite the media to view this topic and sit back with the popcorn and watch their already tarnished reputation disappear down the plughole? 🍿

Maybe we should change their name to "Potty-fy"? 🤔

For info, the Echo device software version after the update that seems to work for me ends in 5124. The version reported by my devices that refuse to update ends in 4356.

@cades1  Same here, device sotware version ends 5124 (or, May 1st 2024 perhaps?) 🤓

Current Spotify version is 1.235.663.0

This is the thread for the echo device issues

All I can say is that it has worked successfully for us for the last 2 nights in a row. We play music from Spotify through Alexa in our baby's room. We've been dealing with the music stopping for probably 6 weeks. I was one of the first group of posters on this thread.. We thought maybe it was a fluke when the music played for 10 hours on Monday night without stopping, but it played all night last night, too. I hope it sticks, and I hope it resolves for the rest of the group here, as well, because I know how irritating it is.

I'm having this issue of the music stopping after each song. I'm not playing at a loud volume, it's music without lyrics. I'm using the web browser version of Spotify and streaming to my Alexa/Echo. It's been doing this for at least 2 weeks.

I ran an update on my Echo speakers and also got an update for Spotify this morning. Seems good so far.
