Queue ignores genre filters in Liked Songs

Hey,

We're getting reports that filtering the Liked Songs playlist by genre/mood does not affect the queued songs. When users are filtering their Liked Songs playlist to a certain genre/mood and they play a track, the queue will still have other songs from the playlist which aren't part of the genre filter.

Hey folks! 

Chiming in to bring some clarity on this 🙂
This Ongoing Issue thread was about filtering the Liked Songs playlist by genre/mood not affecting the queued songs. If the filters are overall missing on your end, this would be a separate issue and you can post about it in the Help section of the forum.

 

Note that with this fix we can only guarantee functionality natively, so the abovementioned statement applies to issues with the playback via Sonos or other speakers as well - for these and other issues outside of the scope of this thread, please post in the Help boards.

I have deleted the app and redownloaded it, restarted my phone and logged out and logged back in… I used to be able to select a genre on my over all playlist and shuffle it and it is no longer playing that genre on shuffle, even when it is selected. It just shuffle my whole playlist. Anyone been able to fix this issue ?

having the same issues as everyone else here with the genre filtering. I'll pick a genre and regardless if I use shuffle or not, songs outside the genre will start to play as if the filter was never chosen and it was the entirety of my liked playlist.

Spotify is currently aware of an Ongoing Issue causing the queue to ignore selected genre or mood filters when playing the Liked Songs playlist. The relevant team is currently looking into the issue.

 

I recommend adding your +VOTE to the Ongoing Issue, as well as a comment there with the requested info (device + OS version and exact Spotify version).

Have noticed this. When using a filter on liked songs ONLY is when the issue occurs.

Using Samsung S23+

OS Android - 6.1 Android version 14

hello this hasn’t been working for me for about 2 days now. i have also done a clean reinstall of the app plus clearing the cache along with shutting my phone down. the liked playlist filter still isn’t working for me either. i have an Iphone 14 pro max and the latest Spotify 9.0.28.607.

I’’ having the same problem as everyone else with the liked playlist not following my selected genre nor is it allowing me to select some songs/most it just goes out and won’t play anything

I just got a new phone and signed in but when I try to listen to liked songs with a filter it just ignores it and plays the default sorting of liked songs. I've already fully uninstalled Spotify multiple times and It won't work.
