Switcher workaround works. Pls fix soon. I also have some 67 playlists, and I rely heavily on playlist search as I listen to new tracks.

Same issue here!! Android: “Add to playlist” screen — search field doesn’t filter or respond to Enter (v9.0.90.1229)

App/Build: Spotify for Android com.spotify.music — v9.0.90.1229 (installed from Google Play Store)

Device: Google Pixel 8 Pro

OS: Android 16 — Security patch 2025-10-05; Google Play system update 2025-10-01; Build BP3A.251005.004.B2

Language/Region: Spanish (es-ES), Spain

Summary

When I add a song to a playlist, the “Add to playlist” overlay shows all my playlists and a search field. Typing in the search field does not filter the list, and pressing Enter also has no effect. With many playlists, it’s hard to find the right one.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open any track → tap ⋮ (or long-press) → Add to playlist.

2. Focus the search field in the overlay (“Se ha guardado en / Add to playlist”).

3. Type any text and/or press Enter.

Expected result

The playlists list should filter in real time according to the typed query (and/or confirm on Enter).

Actual result

No filtering occurs; Enter does nothing. The list remains unchanged.

Frequency

100% reproducible since updating to v9.0.90.1229.

Notes

App installed from Google Play (not sideloaded).

Happy to provide additional info or logs if needed.

Thanks!

It's clearly a widespread issue, so why is this super basic functionality taking several weeks to resolve?

Still nothing.(

Who are y'all even paying over there? You can't fix one of the most basic issues imaginable? In a month? This is pathetic and I'm VERY close to unsubscribing. Will give it another day or two

Aimjock

This issue is absolutely infuriating and has been going on for a while now. I hope it’s fixed soon, especially since it’s such a fundamental feature of the app.

I’ve also noticed another issue: when adding songs to playlists now, they sometimes aren’t actually added, especially (but not exclusively) if you add a song to multiple playlists at a time. It might only be added to one of the playlists you selected.

This may only occur when you use the work-around (search, then open ‘Recent apps’ and then go back to Spotify), but I’m not sure. Has anybody else had this issue? I am using Android 15.

Have the same issue @Aimjock, that it's not adding songs properly. So I always have to double-check which adds an extra layer of annoyance to the SNAFU. Haven't found a pattern yet. I also assumed it was adding several songs at the same time. But it's inconsistent. It might also be relarted to deleting (unchecking) songs from playlists while adding. Or adding songs to playlists in your recently used cue, so without using the search function. Might also be related to the number of items of the playlist one adds / removes to. As I say: Inconsistent.

But this issue has also existed before the playlist search bug. Had this since Spotify introduced the checkbox UI for adding to playlists.

Here to confirm searching for playlists doesn't work when adding a track to one. I have to scroll manually and I have something like 30 different playlists. I have 8000 tracks easily organised in playlists and I am considering migrating to YouTube music if this isn't fixed.

Device: Pixel 6

I have also been experiencing this issue for about a week now on Android, and I also noticed several songs I saved to playlists during this outage period did not successfully save. I also had songs that I previously removed from liked songs reappear. It seems the entire "add to playlist" interface is glitching. Time to try Apple Music?

It seems to be some kind of rendering refresh problem. It is actually performing the search, you can't see the results . As wwwathlete pointed out , if you click your phones recent / open apps  button to show loaded apps and then go to your phones home page  then press the open apps button and then choose your Spotify session .. your search results are there ! What I've found on my pixel phone is if you select open apps as before , I can touch the screenshot option and then if I  cancel the screenshot and then if I touch Spotify, I now see my search results . Also I think search in other parts of mobile Spotify seem to work and when I last checked the add playlist search in the web version worked !
