My Question or Issue
From a while ago I've been experiencing some issues related to the performance of Spotify on my Bose Home speaker 500: the first connection works and after one to three songs the music suddenly stops, the Bose device alerts that there was a problem with the code C7-SC1300, after a couple of attempts to restart the music it allows me to, but then it suddenly stops after one to three songs and so on. I might think is a specific issue with Spotify since it works perfectly with the interface of other music services (TuneIn as an example). Hence, I don't find further information about the error code described above on internet that can give me further insights about how to solve the problem, I've already tried as well the solutions found on internet to related problems between Spotify and the Bose speaker but it just doesn't solve it at all, and this situation has been happening since June/July this year. I'd like to understand what's the issue and why it hasn't been fixed by that much time, is totally discouraging to subscribe to premium if those bugs and problems are constantly happening and doesn't seems to be solved at all.
Thank you.
Any further update on this ?…..I am having exactly the same issue.
Bose home speaker 500
ver 10.6.5
About six months ago, after a few songs, it would stop
I have the regular version of Spotify
When there is an ad, it stops and cuts out
Tunein always works great
today 7/2/2025
Spotify didn't work for me
I would immediately get an error message when I tried to play a song
I tried everything, I did a reset
I revoked the permission from Spotify and restored it
8/2/2025
The problem was solved only when I reset the internet
I have found a work a round that works for me. Using the Bose app enable your speaker to accept Chromecast and then use the Spotify app to connect direct to the speaker via Chromecast…..this gets rid of the problem of Spotify stopping after 2 or 3 tracks! If you want to add speakers in your group go back to the Bose app and form a group based on your selected speaker
Hey folks,
Thanks for all the info you've sent.
We're afraid this integration has been deprecated, so the old way of streaming music using the Bose app may no longer work. However, you should still be able to use the Connect feature as @Dessi mentioned previously, by following the steps here.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.
Hope this clears things up. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
In the last few days, possibly since the 9.0.18 app update, I struggle to get it playing on my Bose Smart Soundbar over Spotify Connect initiated from my iPhone 15 Pro. When I finally can, the Spotify app on iPhone seems to keep losing track of this- the green speaker icon turns white and I can no longer bring up the volume controls by pressing the iPhone volume buttons. It thinks it’s playing on the iPhone, when it definitely isn’t.
If I force quit the Spotify app and reopen, it temporarily recognises it’s actually playing on the speakers again, but then soon loses track of this. Things seem fine on the Bose end- no firmware updates recently, and I’ve tried resetting it.
Attached is a short clip of me reopening Spotify after force closing, while Spotify Connect is playing on the speaker. The app recognises it’s playing on the speaker briefly before promptly losing this info. This remains the case until restarting the app, and then it repeats. At no point does the music actually stop playing on the speaker.

My Question or Issue
Hi, as a workaround I did a full reset of my speaker, connect to 2.4 wifi and Google Cast instead Spotify connect. And yes, this only happens with Spotify. Other music streaming services works fine. Hope this may help to other users with the same issue. I have a bose portable speaker.
I have the same problem with my I've similar problem with my Bose speaker home 500: I can't play Spotify music anymore . After complete reset ( of the speaker , re-install Bose and Spotify app) , Spotify streaming came back to work for few min and then stopped again ...
I see this problem hit other users for more than 6 month . Is there new update ? A workaround?
