Hey folks!
Ever experienced any issues with the ad being in the wrong language, the ad volume and frequency or the content itself?
We're creating this thread in case you're in need of reporting any of those 🙂
Just let us know the following details and we'll forward them to the right teams:
Many thanks!
I have been getting an advert over the last week or so (NOV 2024) which claims it is Pension credit from the UK government. the image looks like a 'war torn child in poverty' and the language is most definitely NOT English. ( my untrained ear thinks it is welsh but i doubt it) I have reported it every time it comes on ( almost every time and ad is on this is one of them) but it just keeps on coming on, and it is annoying to say the least. It looks, sounds and feels more like a scam.(?)
"Tailored ads" doesn't even keep the ads I report from playing. They play again at the next commercial break. Ads themselves don't bother me, as I understand ad-free is a premium feature from when I had premium. Now that I'm unable to pay for a subscription, I have no problem with there being ads. I suffer from Misophonia though, and ads that have amplified eating/drinking/breathing noise cause me an intense stress response. My daily spotify experience over the last couple months has been more and more inundated with ads I already said were awful and reported. It's like they are even more frequent after talking to someone to report them. I wish there was another app that I could use because I can't truly enjoy spotify anymore.
I actually already did what you suggested. I think I'm actually hearing it more now, plus another awful ad the I hadn't been subjected to in months came back.
I have been having this problem with Spotify podcast where the podcast will play fine then the ad break starts it plays fine and I can hit the skip 15sec button and it dose. After when it switches back to the podcast it's playing the right podcast but it's playing the audio over top of another layer of the same audio so I hear twice the audio. When I hit the pause button one line of audio will stop and the Spotify app will say nothing should be playing but the podcast I paused will still be playing another line of audio. This only stops when I close the Spotify app entirely. For example I was listening to the most recent Joe Rogan Experience interview with Elon Musk #2223 and everything was fine then the ad played and when it was done the app started playing the interview with Mike Baker #2197 with the same double audio. This time it said I had finished the Elon Musk podcast but I was only about 1 hour into the Elon Musk podcast when this happened and I had never started the Mike Baker podcast that it switched too.
It's an audio bug
it happens about every other time I use Spotify
Last time 7:15 PM 30/11/2024
Device is a pixel 7 ver 15
Spotify very 8.9.96.476
P.s I would say this started about October
I forgot to mention I have Spotify premium so this isn't a free ver that I'm having issue with as any Spotify staff can see if they pull my account
Since about 10:00am I've been having my Spotify freezing everytime this stupid Peloton ad comes on. I'm playing on my Google Pixel Phone/Chromecast.
So yeah, I don't know if it's purely coincidence, but after my first post here I tried listening to podcasts again two days later and the volume between the ads and the podcasts is now pretty spot on. I can finally listen to podcasts again without getting my eardrums getting blown out. So thanks for that!
Except a single ad which came up two days? three days? ago (dunno exactly, night shift makes the days blur into each other).
It's basically exactly the same as before, the ad is at the same volume with my phones volume around 7% (somewhere between 5 and 10 percent) as is the podcast at 45%.
Which really **bleep**ing hurts and makes one literally jump when this one ad comes up. (Bonus points if you're literally wearing ear protectors over your Bluetooth in ears (with ANC on) and can't quickly tap on your in ears to make it stop or turn the volume down and have to reach across the whole **bleep**ing table to your phone to use the side buttons and drop whatever you're working on.)
I'm listening to Spotify in the car and when sirens or screaming start coming out of my speakers it freaks me out and it's super dangerous. Can we ban loud & annoying noises from ads played on Spotify?
It just played again. It's for the McDonald's breakfast and the ad is from McDonald's Corp.
Reason for complaint: UK-based, UK account. Ads on podcast using Spotify Connect to one device playing from USA - changing back to native app on phone/laptop/other Spotify Connect device changes played ad to a UK-based one (podcaster's own) (literally can "pause" a UK/US ad on one device and restarts as a US/UK ad on another, Not a major issue as can skip the ads anyway, but presumably not ideal for your advertisers.
Name of ad: Multiple

Most annoying ad overkill. Ithe same one over and over. Depending on the podcast sometimes every three minutes. German shopify ad with some Theresa and Nemo testimonials. I am considering canceling my subscription
Reason for complaint: Ad keeps repeating despite downvoting every time I hear it.
Name of Ad: Clorox Scentiva

Please help, this ad makes me physically uncomfortable every time I hear it, to the point of ripping my earbuds out of my ears.
