So....I tried getting the 'free' Google Home Mini. Was charged. Full price. Any help her support team? I'm guessing it's because my order took too long- I was waiting on a text back from my wife. But I need assistance because I totally qualify and I definitely have NOT gotten my mini, despite it repeatedly telling me I had already gotten one when I go back in and try to redo the order.

Charged here as well. I cancelled the order and now it wont let me try ordering again. It says that theres limits on how many I can order even though I cancelled my order.
Spotify!!! Please Help with this...
I had to close out of everything, return to email offer that said it was ready, open in new ingonito window, link the accounts (again) and then I was finally able to complete the purchase without being charged for the $49.
anyone gotten a response from spotify? I just realized i was charged as well and i cant cancel the order since they shipped it already. If i return it will i be able to purchase it again or is that just the end?

Same here. After a week of emailing back and forth with Spotify I got an answer that worked.
When you get to the email notification that you're eligible for the Google Home Mini and you click on GET IT NOW, you'll be directed to a different page. You can use the page's URL and try it on an incognito/private browser. Or look for the code on it and manually apply it when you check out.
I first had to cancel my original attempt to order, then start over. The incognito window had me sign into my google account before hitting the purchase tab. All went smoothly from there.

I had the same. It was showing up it will be discounted at the checkout but when I have paid with PayPal it didn't so I have canceled that order but then not able to use that offer as was showing up it was already used.
It looks like some kind of glitch not to carry over discount code from the Spotify site to Google checkout. I have contacted Spotify on that. Let's see what they will come back with.

I had the same thing happen to me. I followed all the instructions initially and the Google store originally listed the device at $0 but in the cart it was $49, yet I kept getting a message at the top saying the promotional rate would be applied at checkout. So I trusted it and let the order go through. They charged me a few days later and by then they said it was too late to cancel. Google customer support said to just refuse the package and I would get a refund. I refused the package and now Google has yet to refund me 2-3 weeks later. In the meantime the promo code didn’t work any more because I had already “used” it. Google had me use multiple browsers, clear cache/cookies/history, other devices, apply the promo code manually, and just wait a few days and try again. Eventually they said it’s a Spotify promo, we don’t know why it’s not working, ask them.
So I ask for help on Twitter via @SpotifyCares. They go through much of the same process which I do, sending screen shots, etc. Unsurprisingly, nothing works. They say they’ll escalate it to “accounts” who will contact me via email. The “accounts” team does exactly the same thing except it takes 1-2 days or more for each response and now they’re just repeating suggestions. I list out everything I tried before in each email and they respond with “try clearing your cart” (it is always empty, including in the screen shot I sent them before that response); “try different devices and browsers”; “clear your cache”; everything short of “is it plugged in?” It’s gotten to the point that if it weren’t for such a long delay between responses I would have thought I was talking to a poorly programmed/trained AI bot.
In the meantime Google won’t refund me and keeps saying they’ll look into it and get back to me but “rest assured” they will let me know in 24-48 hours. I have been unassuredly resting for 6 days since their last correspondence.
Now, since I am just going around in circles with Spotify Accounts via email, I try Twitter again. I sent them a description of the whole situation and they respond with "we recommend contacting the accounts team for help".
Basically instead of a free Google Home Mini I got to pay $50 for the pleasure of spending hours dealing with this issue.
At least when Apple offered me a free year of Apple TV+, it just worked.
I had the same issue, used the link Spotify provided and after the order was placed I was charged. I'm within the Google 12 day return but Google says it's too late. Spotify doesn't seem to care to respond here to it's customers so I'm cancelling my Spotify account and moving to APM since I'm a Prime member already. (can you believe you can't include the full name of this service here!) Can't force them to respond so I'll respond by cancelling my account. As for Google, I really didn't expect anything better than **bleep** customer support.
After a long back and forth eventually Spotify email support eventually gave me a new code, Google (after several follow up emails and another chat session) refunded me for the original one, and was able to place a new order for the free device.
Free being kind of relative, many hours of frustration and a lot of time spent explaining the situation to different people over and over.
