Hey there everyone!

We're seeing reports regarding an error message that appears when trying to upgrade to a recurring regular Premium subscription in India.

If you haven't already, we'd recommend making sure to try the steps here as well as:

  • Tried subscribing in an incognito or private window in your browser.
  • Your card allows recurring payments. If you aren't sure, you can reach out to your bank for more info.
  • Tried subscribing from a different network connection.

If that doesn't do the trick, we'd like to know so we can look into this. In that case, make sure to add your +VOTE and let us know the following details in a comment below:

  • Recurring payment method you are using
  • Issuing bank

Please note that if you'ret trying to subscribe to Premium for Students and seeing a similar error message, there's an Ongoing Issue that you can vote instead here. Thanks!

Hey, @rudra_on

Welcome to Spotify Community and thanks for contacting us here.

About your issue, Spotify accepts debit cards as yours, but first, your debit card need to be able to allow recurring payments. And for that, you need to be in touch with the card operator. And then you'll can use your debit card to subscribe the Premium.

If you need more information or have any other issue, let me know here.

I have used my debit card for Apple Music monthly subscription, it worked perfect. I’m facing this issue only with Spotify.

Hey again, @rudra_on

I know it can be disappointing, but that is the only reason that Spotify is rejecting your debit card. If you want, you can be in touch with the card operator and ask for more information about it. After all, if you also want, you may contact the Spotify Customer Team to get more information.

Let me know if you had purchased the Premium.

And for more information about it or if you have any other issue, let me know!

Best Regards
