It says i'm not eligible for Premium individual

 every time i try get a premium individual it keeps saying im not eligible but won't tell me why?

Thanks for reaching out in the Community.

 

Could you confirm that you still get the same error, even when trying to subscribe with the link @Hubo posted? If yes, try the following troubleshooting options:

  • Try with a private / incognito window, where no data is stored.
  • Try clearing your browser's cookies and cache.
  • Try with another browser.
  • Try with another device, for example, a computer instead of a phone.
  • Try with another payment method (if available).

Keep us posted on this.

Spotify won't let me use my Walmart+ offer for the six months of free of the premium service

If perhaps your code isn't working, you can reach out to Walmart, so they can help you check the code. You can contact them here.

 

On another note, keep in mind this offer is only eligible to users who are new to Premium subscription. If you have subscribed to either the Premium, have taken a trial or introductory offer previously, you're ineligible for this offer. You can read more about our Terms and Conditions here.

I had the same issue and found the solution to my problem.

 

For me, the problem was eligibility for the on-going promotion.

I live in a region (Quebec) which is not eligible for the ongoing promotion. Even when trying the various links above the promo was always "auto applied" which prevented me from selecting a plan.

 

I ended up using a VPN to change my location and that allowed me to be eligible for the promotion + change the plan.

 

This level of fiddling is absurd and the issue should be fixed by Spotify ASAP. Run some analytics on the pages, there must be a ton of users with similar issues.

hey so i got a microsoft reward saying i can get three free months of spotify premium it gave me the code but it said ''Sorry, you are not eligible for that plan. Here are some other ways to get Premium.'' can someone pls help me?

I've been trying to get spotify premium (individual) and I can't. It gives me the same message every time. I feel like I shouldn't need to spend this long trying to figure out a solution, it feels like I've tried everything. I've tried login out and login in, i tried login in to my computer and my phone (same message on both) i tried 2 separate network, i tried clearing cache/cookies, i tried incognito, i tried the other plans (just to see what would happen) said the same thing, i tried the link provided above, i tried adding a payment method (you need to get the subscription to add one in the first place) and I have tried signing out of all devices. The only thing I havent tried is using a different browser and I don't want to download a whole other browser only to solve this issue. I doubt it would even do much considering I've tried both the app and browser and incognito.  I suspect having the same issue as another user who lived in quebec and I guess the promotion doesn't apply here? It doesn't say so anywhere and I don't believe the first two months free are even a special promotion. They have tried a vpn, but I do not have access to that (having to use a vpn is ridiculous in my opinion) I'm a bit lost as to what i need to do now, please help.

Could you try with the non-trial links, provided in this thread?
Let us know if you encounter the same issues.

P.S. @myleess_e, the code will not work if your account has already had Premium or a Premium trial.

I tried signing out everwhere before i attempted update my region but still no avail despite while being on incognito mode and i have even tried firefox and safari too besides chrome . How can i reach support to fix this issue ?

I hope someone's still monitoring this thread. It's 2023 and I'm still getting this error regarding updating country for my premium plan. I have followed the guides above, have tried the troubleshooting steps and I am still unable to update my country from New Zealand to Australia. I have a payment method for Australia, and clicking "update details" or "update" next to the current payment method does not work. When I add in my new card details for Australia I get an error message that says "Your payment method and country don't match". When I try to update my country it takes me a plan page with NZ based plans where it still says "You are ineligible for this plan" even though it is my current plan. When I update the URL to reflect au it still tells me I am ineligible for the plan. I have to update my payment method as the old payment is expired so my last payment was not successful. Can someone please help with this error?

Im having the same issue too: after having an account for several years in Denmark I moved to Switzerland. Now that Im trying to change my country and payment method so I can use a swiss card, I get the same error message as the ones above. So after 1year, you spotify guys have not found a solution?

@eventuallyethan, @1199989207, in this type of case, you should be able to update the payment method linked to your accounts by following the steps in this article. Nevertheless, you can also cancel the subscription you currently have. After your Premium subscription has expired and your account is on free service, you can change the country or region by following these steps.


It's important to take into account that you'll be able to make the change once the account is free, so depending on when your next billing date is, you'll have to wait more or less. When you have set the new country or region, you can try one more time to enter the details of your new payment method.

 

Note: Your new country or region only shows when you’re actually there.

 

That should do the trick, so please let us know how it goes 🙂

I have exactly the same issue as everyone else here - this has clearly not been resolved!! I have spent so much time now trying to fix this - different cards, issued in different countries. Nothing works. Also incognito browser and all....I have had my account for many years without problem but now my card expired. Is there anything else I can do - please do not just repeat everything already recommended above, I have tried that...

Based on the description that you posted, we're understanding that you're trying to update your payment details.  If that's the case, you can try doing that in your account page. Here you can find more detailed information and steps. In case this doesn't work, we can suggest that you cancel your current subscription, wait until your account reverts to free and re-subscribe with the card that you'd like to use. You can find out more info on the different payment methods you can use in this article.

 

Please note that your country is determined by the payment method you're using, so if you were using a payment method issued in a country you're not currently residing when you initially set your account, you'd need to update your country. Once you do that, you'll need to enter a payment method that's matching your new country.

yes, I tried to update my country but it then says I am not eligible for my plan. I live in DK, but cannot use my DK card. So far I have had a UK account (as I used to live in UK). I cannot use my TransferWise card either - no matter which country I chose. I think the only option left for me is to let my premium run out. I will actually see if I get on without premium. If not I will need to create a new account to get premium again. Real shame you cannot resolve this without having people create a new account - might lose you quite a few premium costumers.

Hi everyone,

I had the same issue where I received an error message when trying to change my plan to the individual I tried the solution suggested by @jrk91, which was signing out of all devices and then updating my payment method, it worked but I needed to change the country to Canada. And, after changing the country, it's giving me the same error again.

I tried the troubleshooting options suggested by @Yordan, such as using a different browser, clearing my cookies and cache, and trying a different payment method, but unfortunately, none of those options worked for me.

@MeikeUschi, in this case we'd suggest reaching out to the folks over at Customer Support, as they're the ones who can take a closer look at this and assist you further.

I solved the problem by going on holiday abroad, my account getting blocked from that, then I returned and suddenly could change my country and accordingly my payment method. Worked for me now but I guess it is not feasible for everyone to now go abroad to sort this out haha. Good luck 🙂

Hi, I’m from Quebec and I’m trying to get premium. I tried following the links provided to remove the free trial option but it always leads me back to the option with the free trial and says I’m not eligible. 

I tried to select a plan but it keeps telling me that te plan in question is not available for me
