Simultaneous access?

If I purchase the individual account, can I access Spotify on 2 devices simultaneously and have different music playing?

I want to play music on my living room speaker continuously from my desktop but be able to listen to podcasts on my phone in another room.

Welcome to the Community! We're happy to shed some light on the situation.

Spotify accounts are for personal use, which means that they can be played only from one device at a time. If you wish to have two devices playing simultaneously, you will need to set up an account for each device. 

There's a group subscription called Duo which gives premium access to two accounts that can be used at the same time. In this article you can find all the information about it.
