Hi! I need some help with an apparent bug. My following count is displayed incorrectly on my phone app profile. Following and followers count show up as identical numbers (19 and 19), but this is wrong. After clicking the list to view individual accounts I'm following, the display here is correct (4).

I tried logging back in and out as well as uninstalling and restalling the app, to no avail. I have also tried turning offline mode off and on. I'm wondering if this will resolve itself with time?

Hey there! Thanks for asking in the community. I can confirm that sometimes it takes a little bit of time to update your follower/following count. Worry not it is not a bug. In some time it will be updated to the actual number. Hope that helps.

Having the same problem, but it says I'm following 377 people and I'm actually only following 16. I've never followed 377.

We're jumping here to add some insights. So, keep in mind that the following number you see on your profile (under your display name) counts both the users and the artist profiles you follow.

We'd like to add that another user had a suggestion to separate the following artists and users. The idea was posted here, so we’d suggest adding your vote in the thumbs up icon and subscribing to it to get notified as soon as we have any updates to share.

Ugh. Mine is doing the same thing and the stuff listed earlier doesn't apply to me. My follower list and following list update immediately, but it says I'm following more people than I am. Someone pls help

This is odd. Could you log out of the app and back in twice in a row?

This will trigger a manual sync of your settings and should hopefully resolve your issue.

@r_iya882423, @jlutj3bqycmb5hvzzk7b, keep in mind that, as mentioned before in this thread, the following number you see on your profiles (under your display name) counts both the users and the artist profiles you follow.

In that sense, we'd suggest you take a look at the Following tab in your profile. There you should find both artists and users. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

If that's your case, we'd like you to know another user had a suggestion to separate the artists and users you follow. The idea was posted here, so we’d suggest adding your vote to the thumbs up icon and subscribing to it to get notified as soon as we have any updates to share.

Heya, I also have this problem. Even after having waited for a day to allow the following count to update, it still refuses to change. I am currently only following 10 people; this includes both personal and artist accounts (which I can see in my 'following' tab). Yet on my account, it states that I follow 17 accounts. Could this following number be affected by playlists which I follow instead? Even then, it still wouldn't add up.

Welcome to the thread!

If you haven't already, make sure to log out > log back in twice in a row in order to re-sync your account and the device you're using, but if the following count is still incorrect then I recommend clearing the cached files. They can cause different issues with the performance and you can take a look at this help article.

Hey! I've found that the best thing to do is wait. I had the same problem
and eventually, it adjusted. Spotify is extremely glitchy in the sense that
it does really weird things at random times so I wouldn't sweat over it. Ig
that's not really what you wanted to hear, but its the best advice I got:)
