My Question or Issue
When I connect my iPhone via CarPlay to my car (2021 Subaru Crosstrek Premium), not all of my artists are listed, regardless of whether I follow them. I can see them all on the Spotify app on my phone, but it doesn’t list artists last the letter V on my car display. I have a handful of favorite artists beyond V, and it seems silly to have to pick up my phone when I’m driving to access them. I have tried literally everything to fix the issue (deleted Spotify, reinstalled, disconnected my car from CarPlay, reconnected, factory reset of car display) and nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey @nowispix,
I've checked backstage with one of Spotify's software engineers and they've confirmed that's this is a communication protocol limitation similar to the one outlined here.
We understand how this can be frustrating, but unfortunately there's nothing we can do to work around this limitation.
We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi @mwolkin3,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
We haven't seen other reports about this, but there are some things we can try here. To start, could you try running a clean reinstall of the app? This one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
If the issue persists, is it possible for you to connect to your car using a different phone to see if your artists are displayed the same way, or if there's a change?
Keep us posted.
Unfortunately I have tried this twice to no avail. I’ve read about similar things happening to others on various sites and I’m not sure if anyone has figured it out.
Hey @mwolkin3,
Thanks for the reply.
Could you try connecting to your car using a different phone to see if your artists are displayed the same way, or if there's any change? This will helps us check if the issue is device related in any way.
Looking forward to your reply.
List of artists is incomplete as well. On my Spotify, my list of artist is complete since my list is so short. My husband’s list of artists stops at R. He has artists in his list like Zac Brown band but can’t scroll down no matter what we try. I have artists beyond R and no problem seeing them in my list because I only have 8 artists added. I don’t use it the same way he does.
Seriously this should be fixed. I get the safety concern, but scrolling through dozens of artists A through R and cutting off there doesn’t make much sense. As a passenger- I should be able to access all the music without having to mess with the phone. Yes this is still an issue - paying customer.
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting here.
Just to confirm, are there any changes after trying the steps mentioned in this thread? Does the same thing happen with another phone?
In case nothing changes, could you please share with us a video recording of what you're seeing? We'll also need the exact Spotify version that is running on your device, as well as device + OS version. We'll look into this further.
Keep us in the loop.
I'm also experiencing this problem, but it has been like that since I started using Spotify on Carplay 3 years ago. Nothing has changed since and I've had this issue with 3 different phones and two different cars with Carplay. It's not only artists by the way, also Albums etc. Basically the whole Library unfortunately. Always have to pick up the phone if I want to listen something in particular. Artists get displayed to M and Albums to C, in my case. Seems to be a capped number of displayed items. Would be really awesome of you fixed that, as the Carplay app is basically just a fancy playlist-picker.
Hi @tchgrbr,
Thank you for reaching out on this thread.
We'd like to investigate this further, so please share with us the make, model and OS version you're running.
A video showing how the issue happens will come in handy as well.
Keep us posted.
I also have the same issue. Using my second phone and second car with CarPlay in the last 3 years.
Artists only display up to S, Albums only up to I. Makes no sense at all.
Was happening in my previous Mini and now in my BMW.
Phone currently running IOS 15.2.1. on an iPhone 12.
Hey folks,
Thanks for the info.
Could you also please share with us a video recording of the issue? We'll look into this further.

Hey @Jasemansky,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Could you please check if the same thing happens when the car is parked?
Keep us posted.
Yes, it happens when the car is parked.
