I can't hear any music playing from my Spotify Connect speaker (Libratone Zipp from 2012) and I'm wondering if something changed today in the Spotify Connect protocol or streaming format?
I see the speaker listed as a Spotify Connect destination when using the Spotify app on iOS or Mac Desktop. I can select the speaker and the app behaves as if everything is fine; the progress position moves along and I can adjust volume. The speaker comes out of standby but no music actually comes out it.
I have tried restarting the speaker and have confirmed that it plays back fine using AirPlay. But Spotify Connect seems to have stopped working.

My speaker suddenly started working again. Something must have been fixed in the backend. 😅
I have an ONKYO TX-NR525 and it's unable to play songs through Spotify connect. The receiver shows the song, artist, etc but songs gets frozen, without starting to sound... It was working yesterday!
Spotify needs to look at what it did in yesterday's update - I have adjusted everything, the DCHPO settings, router, WIFI, the ARCAM itself. Nothing works. It connects but won't play.

My Question or Issue
Today when I tried to play through my Panasonic speakers it wouldn't connect. Songs would play through "This Computer" but when I tried to connect to my remote speakers then track stopped, went back to 0:00 and didn't play. When I pressed the play icon the track jumped to the next song on the playlist but wouldn't start.
I'm having the same problem since today. I can select my speaker as a Spotify Connect destination but nothing comes out. It's an older speaker (Libratone Zipp from 2012), so I wonder if Spotify changed the Connect protocol or streaming format?
AirPlay works fine so I'm fairly sure it's not the speaker.

My Question or Issue
Hello,
For two days, with smartphones, tablets or PCs, we can select our device with Spotify Connect but it is impossible to start playback on my Cambridge Minx XI.
I tried on other devices, it works.
The network is ok and the updates too.
Do you have any idea?
Hi, I have the same problem with my Asus Clique R100, I have also confirmed the device beeing fine with outside app, but I cannot play anything through Spotify. Hope its just a temporary bug
Getting the same issue. From android, mac laptop and windows pc.
I have 2 spotify connect speakers (phillips sw750m and sw700m)
Both where working on 2nd September.
Then on 3rd September, The sw700m refused to play music, but was commected as i could change the volume on the speaker and it was updating in app.
Now (4th September) both speakers refuse to play music.
Have tried from both accounts on our Duo plan, restarted everything etc.

Hi I have exactly the same problem! Rebooted EVERYTHING, Raspi Streamer (HifiBerry) Smartph one FritzBox, Smartphone several times- NO SOUND what ist that ???
unfortunately my evening after work is messed up now- no music :-((
Ditto to the above with all my LG Music Flow - Spotify Connect speakers. No issues at all until mid-afternoon UK time 3rd September, and now no sound.
It connects successfully, but will not play anything. Play button presses, flips to the Pause logo momentarily, and then back to Play button again. This is across Web and iOS devices.
When I try to 'cast' Spotify to my Samsung WiFi speakers, Spotify immediately pauses (well, it actually never plays, not even for a moment) making playback impossible.
I get this with Android and Windows Spotify to Samsung speakers, (but casting to a Google home device instead works OK)
Is anyone else getting this?
Identical looking reports from a year or two ago in the Spotify forum suggest that it's a DNS issue, so I will try that tomorrow.
I can cast locally-stored mp3s on my phone to speakers via the Samsung app, but I can't do it via Spotify.
