This is really a UX problem - the app doesn't work as many would expect and there is no feedback to the user. The user can only conclude that the app malfunction.
I would suggest you add some feedback.
For instance, next to the 'Available Offline" switch button put an exclamation mark, which upon click shows a message 500mb of space are required.
Hi everyone, im from Mexico, sorry for my english, well I have the same problem you all have, the thing is that I think they put a limit in offline songs (3,333), I wanna know if someone could tell me if this is correct?
Thank you 🙂
Yes, you're right.
So here is my issue. I have snyced the playlists on my computer for offline mode, and they work just fine. But then when I try to sync on my phone it wont work. I have an iphone 4s, and the white circle arrow appears next to the songs as if it is about so sync but it doesn't. I have 8.5GB of storage and I have tried redownloading the app. Do you know what is wrong.
I've tried reinstalling Spotify on both my PC, iPad and iPhone, and syncing on three different networks with and without passwords.
I right click the playlist and say "Available offline"... All of the files from Spotify sync to my device, but not a single one of my local files does.
This is beyond frustrating as I have paid for a year of Spotify, the selection is poor and I can't even sync my own music. I work as a programmer and usually have no problem figuring these things out on my own.
It seems like this is a very common problem and until it's resolved I can't recomend Spotify.
This Helped ! Thank you !
i was having the wrost luck !!! i went to my firewall setting disabled both and now they are syncing with no problemmmmmm
If you are not connected to wifi and are trying to sync songs to offline mode on your phone make sure you have "Sync over cellular" turned on
Settings>Music Quality>Sync Over Cellular
so i have a nokia lumia 520 and i click download on my playlist but it wont download??? it said i had low phone space so i deleted a lot of my photos... still doesnt work.... its hooked up to the computer.. welll how long does it usually take to download just in case its just me being impatient lol. but if it isnt whats do i do to make it download
erf sorry wasnt posed to go there!!!! still trying to figure this out
I seem to not be able too as well, and i have plenty of free space on my computer for it, please help.
Hi, I have a 64 gig card in my phone and there is also room on the main memory. I have manageddownloaded two playlists which have gone onto the memory card but now it says it can't synch music as not enough memory on the phone???
What's going on?
Thanks
All of my previously sync'ed music has been greyed out in the Spotify app on my iPhone.
It was all there recently, now it has "disappeared" somehow.
How can this happen?
How can you fix it?
I have a similar problem. My spotify on my pc (Windows 😎 has just stopped downloading songs when i add them to my offline playlist. It has never had this problem before and it works fine on my iPhone 5 (they download). I have maxed out my storage space on my pc (100GB - which is more than enough) and it still won't download them. In the past i have tried adding them from my phone, but that didn;t work this time. I only have 500 songs in this playlist and have no other playlists with offline mode activated. I don't what to do about this. i haven't tried redownloading all the songs, but if I have to do that each time i want to add a few songs, then that is a serious issue thats needs to be addressed. I think this is simply ridiculous that I have to put up with this. This shouldn't be the case espcially when I'm paying $10.00 a month for this service. Not to mention that i also don't understand how these songs can take up so much room on my hard drive considering that i can't even use any of these songs outside of spotify.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope this issue is addressed and fixed.

Yes I have the same problem all the time. I can download a few gig of music and then it says I have no space left. I go to storage setting on my phone and see I still have memory on the phone and about 25 gig on the SD card. The amount of times I've had to erase my SD card and uninstall Spotify and start again is too much to count and very annoying now. If the sound wasn't so good on extreme I would switch to rdio!!!
