View Queue on iPad?

Solved!

View Queue on iPad?

Is there a way to view my play queue in the new iPad version?  A couple of days ago, I had queued up a bunch of songs, but I didn't end up playing them all.  Today, I wanted to listen to a playlist and one song played and then one of the old songs I had queue'd started playing instead of the next song in the playlist.

I understand this is how the play queue works (I use the desktop version of Spotify quite a bit too), but I can't for the life of me find a place in the iPad app to view that queue or to remove stuff from it when I no longer want to hear it (say, a couple of days later when I come back to the app).

Am I just missing it, or is there really no way to see what's in the queue or a way to clear it on the iPad?

If you have an iPhone with the spotify app as well as an iPad then you can do this:

1.Make sure they are both on the same wifi network

2. Have the music playing on the iPad

3. Open spotify on the iPhone

 - it should pop up and ask if you want to listen on this iPhone or continue listening on the iPad --> Select keep listening on the iPad

4. You should now be able to control the music playing on the iPad from the iPhone

5. Find the "Play Queue" icon in the top right (i think) of the iPhone app and go into the queue.

6. Here you can select and remove tracks from the queue and it will clear it on the iPad.

7. Bob's your uncle! A bit of a pain but ultimately useful 🙂

I dont have an iphone.  I left spotify and am using google play and it has perfect interface on the ipad with full contol of the queue.

Hi,

You don't need an iPhone; it works with al smartphones.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and it works fine.

But if Google Play does the trick, that's fine too!

There are several solutions: Pyro; SpotQ; this iPhone + iPad manoeuvre. They work, but they're all a cludge. The only real answer is for Spotify to have its software engineers fix the iPad app like they already fixed the iPhone app.

Fixing the iPad app does not appear to be problematic in principle. So why is it taking Spotify YEARS to do the job, to the immense irritation of many of its paying users?

If it is technical infeasible, Spotify, please say so. Otherwise, just do it.

Update: I'm horrified to see that this post is being listed as a solution to the problem. It isn't: it's just a workaround that is no substitute for a proper fix to the iPad UI. We need to be able to view and edit the playqueue on the iPad just as on the iPhone. Spotify should fix this!!!

This is a workaround, not a solution. I've switched out the fruitbaskets with Android devices long ago.

Too much of a pain. Defeats the purpose of having it on the iPad, which i use to remote most of my home technology.

I gave up and went to Apple Music.

Hahaha Solved! Spotify you are a joke for not being able to add this to the iPad app for years. Ridiculous

Ok Spotify, so you're well aware of the issue. That answer is not helpful. It's not just a "good idea" it's a real problem. I need all of my iPhone features on my iPad and then some. Our devices help us automate our homes. How can it be that this issue remains unresolved after well over a year? I hate to say it because I otherwise enjoy the service, but if it can't keep up with my automation as well as others, I'm going to have to seriously reconsider that Spotify button on my touchscreen.

For the solution to this problem of no queue on ipad,  I chose to change to a paid subsciption for google play music about a year ago and am very happy with the service.  Spotify will lose customers the longer they tak to correct the issue.

I received an email telling me a solution was found and his is what came up. Wow! Thanks Pete.

I cannot believe Spotify still haven't fixed this! Terrible service: a really good advertisement for their competition.

Yeah. I bailed on Spotify after trial period for this reason and that you can't upload your own music to Spotify if it's not in their library. Using Google Play and enjoying it.

They finally added a queue button on the iPad! Top right of the screen 🙂

Which version ? I have version 8.4.1.772 on my iPad. No queue

I just updated to version 8.4.1 on the iPad and see the Play Queue now at the top right of the 'Now Playing' screen. Great news! This upgrade fixed my issue.

I have updated to the latest version and there is no button to see the queue on the now playing screen or anywhere

Me too.

I have updated to 8.4.3

Queue on iPad has disappeared .

That's fuc$&@g annoying Spotify !

That would explain why I can't see it. This is a f...g joke
