Changing Country / Payments

Solved!

Changing Country / Payments

Plan - Premium.

Country - Brazil / Luxembourg.

Device - iPhone 16 Pro Max, Acer Aspire 3.

Operating System - iOS 18.5, Windows 11 Pro.

My Question or Issue - I have been a Spotify Premium subscriber since 2016, and I recently changed countries.

My account has always been Brazilian, and was created through Facebook.

I always made one-off/annual payments.

I moved to Luxembourg, and there are 3 days left until my plan ends.

I have already changed the country on my cell phone, computer, and Facebook account, but I can't change the country on my Spotify account. The country option is there, but it is disabled.

When I try to make a payment, the system takes me to the Spotify Luxembourg page, with the plans and amounts in Euros, but when I click to pay, it displays the error "It seems that this subscription is not available in your country. Please choose another subscription available to switch to Premium".

I already have a debit card from the new country, and I would like to keep the same account due to my long history with Spotify.

How do I proceed to keep the account and continue my Spotify subscription? I really don't want to have to create a new account.

I attached the screenshots of the errors.

Thank you in advance.

Hey @nathansabel,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Since it sounds like your current Premium subscription isn’t set up as a monthly recurring plan, the usual option of updating your payment method to change your country on the next billing date likely won’t work in your case.

Instead, the best thing to do is let your current Premium time run out. Once your account switches back to the free service, you should be able to update your country setting manually through the dropdown menu by following these steps. After that, you’ll be able to re-subscribe using your new payment method without any issues.

Just a heads-up: there might be a short period without Premium in between, and during that time your offline music will no longer be available. So once you’re back on Premium, you may need to re-download everything to your devices.

Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂
