Compromised Service Once Again

Compromised Service Once Again

Just two months ago I had made a post on this same issue (Forum thread here), and it has already returned.  Keeping it shorter than what I typed out in the previous thread, this is an issue where other devices are able to connect to my spotify account and are able to play their own music and deny me from listening to my own.  Not only do they gain control of the music I listen to, but they are also able to edit my library/playlists and usually end up deleting entire playlists and chunks of my library in the process.

Last time I posted about this, the issue magically dissapeared within a couple days and remained gone until just a few days ago.  I wish I knew what was done to my account last time so I could do it myself and not have to make posts about it everytime this service seems to inevitably fail.

Like I said last time, I am paying for this service to be able to listen to my own music, not to be forced to listen to someone else's and to also have them remove all my music off my account.  Since it has happened twice now, I can safely say that this is an issue that needs to be looked into at some point by the developers.

Hey @TheSovietMudkip,

I'd recommend taking a look at this support article: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/privacy/someone-has-gained-access-to-my-account/.

This just happened to me too.

I just signed up for premium, and I started seeing strange names in the devices, like Tabitha's PC. I don't know a Tabitha.

I forced a logout, and a day later my account reverted to a version of itself from a couple months ago: playlists I've made since are missing, and my liked songs are up to September 27, 2017. Some songs I'd REMOVED since are back too, so it very much looks like a restore of a backup of my data from that date.

This isn't a great intro to spotify. I'd been a free user for years and now as soon as I sign up, this. This clearly points to a compromise of account integrity; probably not password breach but rather a mix up of DB keys meaning I see other's data, and vice versa.

Pretty disappointed in Spotify support too; no email? nothing but Twitter? 😕
