Does Spotify share your email with podcasters / artists?

I recently listened to exactly one podcast episode on Spotify and now I am receiving daily promotional emails from the podcaster.  Is this typical?  Has this happened to anyone else? 

Does Spotify share my email with every podcast and artist I listen to? 

If so, how do I opt out of this or turn this setting off?  It seems like the email notification settings would only apply to email updates from Spotify, not podcasters...

Spotify shouldn't be giving away any private user information and this includes your email address.
So that we can investigate what might have happened here, could you check if you have enabled your email notifications as described in this article?
