Trouble with gaining Premium; frustrations.

Trouble with gaining Premium; frustrations.

I paid for my brother's Spotify Premium as an early Christmas present, but I paid with the same card I'm trying to get my Premium with today. I filled out the card information but it told me when I hit the 'sign-up for Premium' that I had already used my 3 month @ $0.99 when, in reality, I hadn't. The pop-up said "For more information, click Continue." So I did; no information came up, just the Premium sign-up page I was on before hand. I filled out the information again because I figured, "Maybe there was something wrong with the system."

Not at all.
It charged me. Twice. And I still don't have Premium.
I went to the help page and it had two topics: "Charged twice?" or "Paid but no Premium-" The topics made a lot of sense, so I followed the directions: Signed out and back in again. Uninstalled and reinstalled. It's still saying "Spotify Free." I started thinking: if it charged, why do I still have the Free version? I understand why it charged twice, but why do I stil have the Free version? Does paying for my brother's subscription count toward my account as well?
Honestly, I've already been frustrated with Spotify before:

Many times the application has foreclosed on me or just froze up.
I play 1 song and immediately there are 3 commercials following afterward.
Once, (this was partially my fault) I selected a song I wanted to play but that horror film ad popped up on the screen and because my volume was on the highest setting, I nearly s*** myself because it startled me so bad.
Thank you for that, by the way.
I just need someone to tell me why I was charged but I still don't have Premium- or if I can even get it.

UPDATE:

They emailed me:::

We've taken a look and can see that both payments for your account didn't go through.

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • Your payment card may have expired.  (Card doesn't expire for another 2 years.)
  • There may not have been sufficient funds when the payment was attempted.    (Got paid the other day; it went to my card.)
  • A temporary connection error with your bank when the payment was due to be processed.   (It's a prepaid card=No bank.)

Your payment card has already been used on another Spotify account. So it’s not possible to activate the Premium trial on any other accounts with this payment method.

None of those bullet points were correct. The payments did go through; the red is my input.

I became officially pissed with that last statement.

I wrote back:::

Are you guys serious?

I was already mad because the payment charged twice on my card with no effect. Now you're saying I can't use the trial because I've already used my card information for my family member?
Really?
I have ONE CARD. Nor am I 'MADE OF MONEY.'

What am I supposed to do? I'm not paying $10 a month; that's outrageously priced for borrowed music.
Amazon Prime is less than that.

Am I over-exagerating or something?

Same here!

Paid for the 4.99 student service and my card was charged and no upgrade.

Getting anyone to answer is a freaking JOKE!

It's funny because people who posted a new message after us have already been helped.

It seems like Spotify Help picks and chooses..

I've tried several times to establish my premium account and I received no answers

Fantastic.....

I am dealing with the same problem. Was yours solved?
