playing spotify throughout the house ?

playing spotify throughout the house ?

Hello. I know its been asked a million times about having different devices active at the same time ( the answer is no you can not play on multiple devices )

But my question is a little different

I Pay for premium and was wondering if it is possible to have spotify play the same song on multiple devices ( computers with surround speaks) to create a synchronized surround sound effect throughout the house ? spotify shows the track and the time at which it is playing at already on different devices but is there any way to get it to play that through the speakers when it is already playing in a different room ?

Example. My living room ( computer ) is playing "red lips by skrillex"

and my bedroom (computer) shows "red lips by skirllex" is playing in living room ( but I want it to play through both )

is this possible or a suggestion that could be taken serious by spotify ?

I couldnt see the harm in this as long as only one song is playing from an account at a time ( or even if it is restricted to same wifi )

this would be so cool and i'm interested because I throw parties all the time

Hey @ChazWolf

Unfortunately, no, but here's what you can do:

  1. Have all the speakers connected to one device/computer
  2. option 2:
    1. Save all songs offline
    2. Play a song and turn the device offline
    3. Have a second device play that song and try and sync the two

Other than those tedious methods their no way

appreciate the response. Thats what I figured but thought I would ask... Do you think this is too much to ask from spotify though ? as a paid service I think this would be within expectation and doability limits, don't you ?

@ChazWolf

Its not as doable as one would expect 🙂

You see the issue is not in Spotify's end but rather the limitation of licensing agreements, which prevent more than one device playing songs on the same account 🙂

hmmmmm

so for arguments sake, what if spotify made a party mode where you could link up with other users "friends" that have paid service and you could link to where you guys could stream the same songs at the same time ( like a a DJ mode ) that would allow you to have 2 paid accounts and then play on multiple devices while keeping the songs in sync

ahha

I should drop this LOL

@ChazWolf

Well you could recommend that in the ideas section here 🙂

But again that's probably limited by licensing agreements as well, but nothing stops you from doing that manually yourself 🙂
