same ad keeps popping up over and over again

I have tailored ads turned of in the privacy section, however the more i listened i kept getting the same ad more often, until it was the only ad i ever got. Is there any fix to this?

Name of ad: Georgetown University, UMGC, Cleaning ads (Lysol?, Clorox?, etc)

Rough time/date you heard the advert: Maybe around 1:30~1:40pm EST

Your device's model and OS version: It happens on both my laptop and any phone. All phones I've used are the same iOS or Andorid or phone from Walmart (Tracfone)

@Elena, please help pass my info onto the team as well. I've been hearing one specific ad at least 3 times every hour, every day for a long, long time. I'm so tired of it. Please stop this ad from playing, it's practically harassment.

Most of the time I listen to Spotify on a pc with Windows 10, the app version is 1.1.67.586.gbb5ef64e

I also listen to the app on my android phone and I hear it there too. Doesn't matter if I have tailored ads on or not.

It is an audio ad for Shady Grove Fertility Clinic.

I just heard it again like 15 minutes ago, 9:00am.

I just discussed this with the CMO of my company. The outcome is that, most likely, Spotify prefers to annoy and push you towards the paid subscription compared to providing a comfortable ad-based experience. They could easily target your music interests based on your playlists and provide a selection of relevant ads but that would mean you would probably never upgrade. In other words, they accept to sacrifice a % of annoyed users as far as numbers confirm they are converting the majority into paid users. At the end of the day, they are a company and companies want to make more money.

Well, if @ggggg343434 's reasoning is sound, which I assume it is, spotify just successfully annoyed me off their platform. I couldn't hear that cursid disney commercial one. more. time. I'm going back to pandora and torrents.

Hi I think I am having the same problem. When listening on PC with the app, a This is the Place Heritage Park ad is at the bottom, but without me clicking on the ad opens up a new widow to their website.
