My standard sorting option when adding songs to a playlist is "recently added" so my most used playlists are always on top!
Problem is that the next day this somehow resets and the playlists are in random order (I think), but in this case the sorting option doesn't make much sense.
Regards
Hey there @kosh_ac,
Thanks for posting this thread on the forum! We'd love to help you have the playlists appear in the desired order on your device.
Playlist sorting could reset due to various reasons such as cache issues, app updates, or when switching between devices. If you've not gone over the following steps already, give them a try:
If the filter keeps resetting, you can take full control by switching to 'Custom order' instead. Unlike the 'Recently added' filter, a custom order is saved directly to your account and stays exactly how you leave it across all devices. Only thing to keep in mind is that you can manually rearrange the playlists in a custom order on desktop, and the changes will reflect on mobile as well.
Hope these steps help. Keep us posted and we're here if anything else comes up 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions!
I need to check this a few days to see if it works and then come back here!
Just4Info...when adding a song to a playlist there is no option to sort in custom order!
Kind regards
I checked every suggestion you gave and have tested it for a few days, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me!
After not even 12 hours the sorting of the Playlists resets and I have to scroll to the whole list to find the ones I recently added to! As a workaround I now use the search function to find the Playlist more quickly, but this is not the way the sorting function should work at all!

Hey @kosh_ac,
Thanks for the update. We really appreciate you taking the time to test the suggestions and we totally get how frustrating this is, especially when it affects something you use so often.
We tried to reproduce this on our end but couldn’t see the same behavior and we don’t have many similar reports right now, which makes it look like it could be device‑ or account‑specific.
Could you check if your phone has any battery or memory optimization features enabled and make sure Spotify is excluded from them? Also, have you noticed any other settings resetting over time? If you’re able to, testing with a different Spotify account on the same device would be really helpful too.
Let us know what you find and we’ll keep looking into this.
There are no Memory or Battery optimizations set for the Spotify app!
And the strange thing is that it has previously worked as it should, but I can't say when it stopped and if I changed something in the OS or installed an app which could explain this behavior!
In a few weeks I get a new device with a more recent version of android and then I will check again and let you know!
Regards
