Sadly the only 'usable' fix I found was to just turn Soundalive off in the
EQ options.

Sadly, this makes things much quieter but it seems to have stopped the
volume changes. Either that or there just so quiet I don't notice them any
more.

Either way, this **bleep** needs to be sorted soon or I may jump ship too.

Hi there, SoundAlive EQ is something provided by Samsung on their devices. If this is causing issues you should get in contact with their customer support. If turning it off fixes the issue with Spotify then it's clearly an issue with the EQ provided by Samsung

That's not what he said - he states that the music is too quiet with Soundalive turned off.

I had volume problems. What worked to increase the volume was when I set the equalizer to one of the selections...e.g. Jazz. The volume increased. But I noticed that the bass boost and 3D effect adjustment does not function anymore.

I went to settings...then to equalizer... set it to one of the selections..e.g. Jazz. The volume increased. But the bass boost and 3D effect adjustment does not work anymore. I use a Samsung S3.

I havw updated to the latest build hoping it would finally fix this issue. The volume has been low for the past 3 months for me. In other sound applications apps it is very loud. When my buddy uses spotify on his iphone in my car it is way louder. I use an aux cable to plug it in my car. I have tried older versions of the app all the way back to 2.0 but it still is low compared to other apps. I have even tried the builds in beta but still no luck.
I think us android users should be getting premium for free until this is fixed. I have never wanted to buy and iphone so bad just so this app will have good volume again. Anybody have a fix for this yet?

Using latest Spotify version
Samsung Galazy S5
Lollipop 5.1

I am having the same issue on my Samsun S4.  It just renders Spotify useless.  I can't believe there isn't a fix for this, and they don't seem to be taking it seriously.

Unfortunately, since this has been going on for so long and has never been addressed.. I don't foresee a fix coming soon. I would LOVE to be proven wrong, but I just sunny see it. The fact that the app alone, as nice as it looks, hardly has any unique Android features, qualities, or looks, tells me where the development teams strengths and focuses are geared towards.

For most Android developers that are experienced with Android, this would seem an easy fix I would think... And even if it wasn't, they would take pride in their work and wouldn't stop until it was fixed.

I'm a long time user, but Spotify really needs to start paying more attention to Android. With Apple Music right around the corner...I have a feeling the blow could hurt a bit. If they're really paying royalties now for the 3 month trial, most of not all labels there were praying will be on board I bet. Not good... Just saying. I'm afraid though even with that, they'll put even more focus into their iOS app just as a means to retain their iOS users.

What auto correct failures those posts were lol

I think I am going to cancel my subscription.  Out of interest, are there any other streaming apps that don't have this issue?  Google Play appears to have the same problem.  is it something to do with the Android platform rather than the developers?

Google Play actually works great. Side by side, get the same song paused on both and listen on Google Play then Spotify. Google Play will be much clearer and louder...even on Google's "Normal" quality. Even better on their "High".

Yeah Google play sounds great... I just hate the fact that gapless playback doesn't work on it for me... And the apps a bit laggy at times... But then again so is Spotify.

the only deal breaker for me for Google Play is that offline songs take up so much more space on my phone than the ones on spotify. That the only reason I haven't switched to Google Play

See I signed up for the trial of google Play and was still having sound issues.  Did some googling and found that there are issues with that too.  hence wondering if it is a platform issue.

I will give Deezer a go and see if that works.  There must be something that does!!

For several months I was frustrated with the low volume issue. I usually
set mine as "user" set equalizer.

Then I switched to a preset equalizer setting.say Jazz and the volume
improved. I was surprised with the improvement. It worked for me. And I
hope it does also for you.

Did not work.

Jazz makes it quieter.

Didn't work for me either.  I have tweeted Spotify and am in a DM conversation with them about it, so will report back

I don't even have the equalizer as an option on my phone...

My Spotify audio is also getting softer even at maximum. It is very frustrating. It's like why can't they fix this? The support team keep saying they will pass it to the right team but it has been a month but it only get softer. I'm using IOS and this problem is only with Spotify, other apps are loud and clear yet Spotify is getting softer and softer. I have a feeling that one day it will sound like whispers at maximum volume. Anyone has the same problem?

My volume on my s6 edge seems to be dynamically going up and down without me touching the volume. This is extremely annoying. Please fix! All songs are downloaded with extreme quality
