Hey @cxpherplexed, welcome to the community!

Do you happen to be using a VPN? Are you using Wi-Fi, or can you try using a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue persists?

Hope to help fix this for you soon!

Cheers,

Jordan

Hello!

I don't use a VPN and the issue remains even if I use my mobile data, my spotify on my PC is working perfectly so it's unlikely that its my connection.

Hi @cxpherplexed,

Thanks for the reply.

Since only your phone is affected, it would seem that something related to the device itself. Consider performing a clean reinstall if you haven't already. It's possible there's some sort of sync issue and this should be able to clear that and get the app working as expected again.

Hope this helps.

Hello again!

I have already mentioned in my initial post that I have already tried clean reinstalling but it did not work.

Hey @cxpherplexed,

Thanks for the reply.

You mentioned that the issue is only happening on your phone, but just to confirm, does it also happen if you log in to your account from a different phone? It'd be helpful if you could try this so we can keep narrowing down the possible cause.

Also, let us know the exact Spotify version you're currently running.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hello!

I have tried on other phones and the issue disappears on there, so I'm assuming its a device issue here... as for my version it's the latest one.

Hey @cxpherplexed, thanks for following up!

Just to check, are you using any ad-blockers on this device? If so, try switching it off, as it could interfere with the app performance.

Also, have you noticed if this happens with all ads or just with specific ones?

Another thing you can try is using another account on your phone, just to see if it behaves in the same way. For example, you can create a new free account to test this out, or ask a friend to temporarily sign in to their own free account on your device.

Let us know how it goes!

Hello again!

I am certain that i'm not using any ad blockers. The issue only appears with ads when I want to switch songs. I have also tried using a new account but the issue still remains

Hey @cxpherplexed,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

It's possible that the issue could be device-related taking into account that another account shows the same behavior. So to continue investigating this, would you mind checking if the Spotify app has all the required permissions granted on your phone settings?

Also, include in your next response the exact Spotify version you're currently running. You can find it by following the steps mentioned here

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Im running 9.0.48.380 on it by the way

Hey @cxpherplexed,

Thanks for the additional info.

We've noted your report, however, we can't give you an ETA for when it will be addressed. In the meantime, make sure to keep the app on your phone up to date.

Cheers,
