Hey folks! Welcome to this month's Ongoing Issues Review where we keep you in the loop about some of the most trending ongoing issues reported here in the Spotify Community. This is where we share updates from behind the scenes and let you know what has been fixed, what we’re tracking, what we need your help with, and where things stand. You can check the full Ongoing Issue section here.

 

FIXED

1. Getting "This site is out of tune" when switching to Basic plan

We received reports of the error message "This site is out of tune" when trying to change subscriptions to the Basic plan via the Manage your subscription page. This should now be fixed, but if you’re encountering this error, please make sure to refresh your browser and give the Premium page another try.

2. Can’t view ‘new releases’ on mobile app

New Releases tab giving the error “Browse isn’t working right now”. A fix was implemented and this should now be working correctly. 
 
3. CarPlay Playlists not loading

We saw some reports of Carplay not loading with the error message "Nothing here" when opening them from Your Library. This has been resolved.

4. Podcast plays in reverse order

We received multiple reports of podcast episodes playing in reverse order (newest-to-oldest instead of oldest-to-newest). We can confirm that this should now be resolved! If you're still having trouble, make sure that you're running the latest app version by following the steps listed here.


5. Search results severely limited – only 27 results for "love"

Some folks were getting a very limited number of search results in the desktop app. The issue was resolved in one of the latest app updates.


6. ChatGPT app can’t link to Spotify account

ChatGPT error “At the moment, ChatGPT doesn’t have the ability to directly connect or link to Spotify accounts — so I can’t log in, access your playlists, or add songs inside Spotify for you." when linking to Spotify. This should be fixed. If you’re still getting this error, make sure to reinstall the ChatGPT app. 


7. Can't play local files in Liked Songs

Local files couldn’t be played in the Liked Songs playlist. This has been dealt with! If you're experiencing any further issues, please make sure your device is running the latest update

8. Sound Capsule not updating properly

Sound Capsule not updating correctly for a while. We haven't seen any recent comments after the announcement that this was fixed, and this should be resolved.

9. Typo in Ramadan Offer Ad

We were made aware of a typo in our Ramadan offer, this has been corrected! 


10. [Downtime March 10th 2026] - Users not getting Premium after subscribing 

We received reports that some folks who had subscribed to Premium were only seeing the free service. Everything should be fixed now.


11. Offline music being removed when closing and relaunching the app

We received some reports that your offline music needed re-downloading after closing the app. Please make sure to update your app if you’re still experiencing this as it should now be resolved.


12. Sound capsule removing listened time

Reports came in of decreased stream count in Your Sound Capsule. This should be fixed!


13. Next song starts approximately 30 seconds in after an ad break

We received reports of songs starting around 30 seconds in following ads. This should now be fixed for everyone! 

 

14. Family Plan manager cannot set up address

Issues with adding home addresses to Spotify Premium Family plans. A fix was implemented and this should be working as expected again. 


15. Podcast videos not playing on Web Player

Unable to watch podcast videos when using the Web Player. This has been fixed and we've seen some confirmation in the thread that everything's back to normal.

16. Android auto albums not loading

“Something went wrong” error message when trying to open individual albums in the Android Auto library. A fix was implemented and they should be visible again.


17. Not downloading, zip file corrupted Mac

We received several reports regarding downloading Spotify from Safari and Chrome giving the error “Unable to expand SpotifyInstaller.zip" into "Desktop". This is now fixed! If you're still having issues, please reload the page (command + shift + R) and try to download the file again.


18. Basic plans Users are getting ads

Reports of Basic plans getting ads on the mobile app, despite seeing Premium in your Account Overview. This has been fixed!

19. Your Episodes, Remove finished episodes after playing doesn't work

The setting to remove finished episodes from the Your Episodes list no longer works for podcasts that have been downloaded either manually or via auto-download. This is currently being looked into. 


20. [TV] Audio cuts out for a few seconds then comes back
We have several reports regarding audio issues while streaming on TVs. The relevant team is currently investigating this. 


21. Smart Shuffle feature missing on playlists 

Smart Shuffle missing for some folks. This is being looked into, please make sure to subscribe to the thread for updates.

22. Insanely high battery impact and usage

High battery usage reports should be fixed now, but we'd still like to check with you folks. Please let us know if you're experiencing this still in the thread.


23. Toggle for the Auto-Download feature goes off screen on iOS if the name of a podcast is too long

Toggle for Auto-Download off screen (iOS) if playlist names are too long. This should also be fixed. If you’ve been experiencing this, please let us know in the thread how things are looking for you now!


24. popup screen every time app takes focus (choose a device to connect )

This should be fixed with the newest version. Please confirm in the thread and let us know!

25. Local Files scroll resets to top when leaving app

This has been reported to the right folks. We don't have an ETA for further information right now, but please make sure to keep your Spotify updated in the meantime.

 

26. Artist name replaced with "cleaned"

We've passed this on to be looked into. We don't have an ETA for further information right now, but please make sure to keep your Spotify updated in the meantime.

 

27. Unable to create app 

The teams are currently investigating this and new integrations are currently on hold while we make updates to improve reliability and performance. As soon as we've got any other news to share, we'll let you know. You can find more information about what's changed and what's to come here.

28. Current play of playlist disappears after closing the app
Regarding the behavior where the play order of the songs resets upon restarting the app, we're unable to provide an ETA for a fix at the moment, but we’re regularly testing and launching new features and improvements to the app so make sure your device's running the latest update
