[Desktop] Lost Features, no friend tab, etc.

Since a few days i lost a few features which i would like to have back.

My Question or Issue

My Desktop Version got updated all of a sudden and now i got a completely different look. I don't have the friend activity bar on the right side, i can't change my playlists covers or description. I can't even see my own profile like before on the top right. It is like the phone version because i honestly can't customize anything anymore.

Same on the Web player. I downloaded an older version already, which helps, but it updates itself automatically and gets back to the new(?) design. Is there anyone with the same issues or with a solution?

Yeah I can say its pretty stupid to have this sort of test done on an account specific basis. I work in I.T and can't imagine the I.T person who would allow for this sort of failed test. 

My account was messed up with no features for about 3 weeks. Goodluck to the rest of you

Mine is back, too...

I went to Help / About Spotify and initiated an update (which took a while), and then the app restarted and I have the "normal" PC desktop app version rather than the horrible "web version" disaster that everybody hated.

Be sure to use the 'Send feedback' option in the app as well to report how terrible the new version was. Otherwise they might try to force it again soon.

Spotify is officially the worst company in my eyes, no joke.
These automatic replies from the mods or community managers are a joke, glad you guys have it back so someone at Spotify finally did pull the plug!
I hope our job here is done, it was a pleasure fighting alongside all you, we won this small but important war for now at least, if they ever try to force this again, I will investigate and find a way to use my own computer how I want and the software on there as I want.

I logged out and back in, but still have the same horrible UI experience.

Shame on you, Spotify.

had my laptop locked and spotify running the whole time. now i came back, unlocked the pc and about 10 seconds later i had to log in to spotify. 

i logged in and got the old UI back.

Had to restart the app - the blue dot on the top right when there's an update and was kinda scared that i would get the new UI back after clicking.

But i can finally say it - i got the old UI  back. (hopefully for a long time)

Anyways, thanks for bringing it back not making it a real update.

Tip for the future: COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR USERS

Still awaiting mine to go back to the old layout, I'll remain hopeful that this change gets pushed to my account also.

The normal app is back for me as well. I turned on my PC today and the app auto updated.

Maybe spotify is changing back the misguided recent changes, but that doesn't do anything about the fact that the whole UX is terrible and riddled with bugs. But I get it, it's much easier to look fancy, than to actually be fancy. And once you're in ...

Spotify prompted me for an update to version 1.1.34.694.gac68a2b3-a today.

Unfortunately, I still do not have the original layout, even after logging in/out multiple times!

This is getting ridiculous.

Got an update today. Still no improvement on my end...

I talked to CS yesterday. They told me it was most probably 'the recent changes they did to the UI'. Sounds like a standard answer to me, but it doesn't give me confidence for future 'improvements'.

I've done some testing too. I created a new account: Layout is normal (free).

An old obsolete facebook account: Layout is normal (free)

All my friends accounts: Layout is normal (paid)

My one account that I do use, still the useless web-layout.
Spotify, fix this ASAP. I've only been a premium user since a week or so. If it doens't change fast I'll head over to Deezer or an other competitor.
