When I put Windows 10 to sleep, my Play Queue is wiped out upon waking Windows. This has been happening on and off since December. There was a thread in Ongoing issues to get it fixed, but after it was fixed, the next update broke it and now all moderators are ignoring the thread.
Unsure if this affects everyone, or just users that don't have their profile on any other device, so that may help in troubleshooting. Although, for how many times it has been fixed and broken again, it doesn't feel like anyone cares anyway.
Spotify for Windows

Hey @kornfan2007,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the Chats section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.
We appreciate your report. According to the relevant team, this is now Fixed. However, we can continue investigating the case.
First, to make sure we've covered all bases, could you confirm if you've performed a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps mentioned in this article? If so, we'd also recommend clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions in this post (even if it's a different issue).
Lastly, if the issue persists, would you mind checking if installing the app from a different source makes any difference? This means that if you have the version from our website installed, try it with the version available on the Microsoft Store and vice versa to see if it makes any difference. This will give us a better look at the issue.
We'll be on the lookout.
I did a full uninstall, checked for host entries, but there were none and did an install from the Windows store. After the first night of sleeping Windows, I still had a Queue this morning. I won't call this a success yet though, as multiple times since it was "fixed", I have had it work for a few days and then revert back to the broken state. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the post with a probable solution
After putting my PC to sleep over the afternoon, I woke it again to find an empty play queue. I have just uninstalled the MS store version and downloaded the website installer to test with that
Woke my computer this morning and again the queue is empty. So neither install fixed the issue properly.
Hey @kornfan2007,
Thanks for getting back to us.
We appreciate you taking the time to report this to us. We've forwarded the information to the relevant team, who should be able to look into it.
In the meantime, make sure to always keep the app up to date with the latest version, so you don't miss out any fixes and stability improvements.
Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
I work in QA, so have experience with testing stuff. If the team want anything checked, just let me know.
I would note that it is usually fine if you sleep and then wake Windows immediately. So it will be a slower one to test on your end.
Happens to me sporadically too
Hey @ninjafridge,
Thank you for your reply in this thread.
Could you please provide more details about the device on which you're experiencing this? Don't forget to add the Spotify version you're currently running on it. We can then relay the information to our tech team.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
I have done some more testing on this issue which might help. I have noticed that the queue won't clear if I close Spotify and open it again. The next time I sleep my PC, the queue remains. The function will break though once I change what is playing. So if I close and open it again and leave the queue playing from there, it works. It is only when I change Spotify that I would have to quit and open it again to save the current queue state.
One year since this bug was introduced and still no fix. It seems localised to one install. I now have the same profile on 2 machines. One keeps the queue, the other always wipes it. Sometimes if I quit spotify and open it again, then the queue remains after putting windows to sleep, however not every time. If it does keep the queue, then my other machine will not see the queue being shared, so both will be out of sync from each other.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling spotify many times. I have no more options on my end.
Same issue here.
Since about 6 months, the play queue is lost when putting the computer to standby.
Windows 10, Spotify 1.2.26.1187.g36b715a1.
This is a servere usability bug that makes me consider switching away from Spotify.
A workaround is to close the app before entering standby.
