Slow play/pause and volume changes (Windows Desktop)

My Question or Issue

So about a month ago the windows desktop app started becoming slow. When I play/pause for example it takes a full 3 seconds to respond to my action. Increasing/decreasing the volume also has the same problem. I reset the app it gets fixed for like 1-2 hours and then it's back to lagging. I deleted every windows folder that had to do with Spotify and it's still the same. I have never had an issue with the app for years. Before the reset it occupied more than 50GB without any issues...

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

Such behavior might be caused by large libraries. If you've saved a high number of playlists/songs per playlist in your library, you should consider that the app's performance might be affected.

If this is your case, we’d recommend splitting up your Liked songs playlist into smaller ones, or maybe deleting any playlists you don’t listen to anymore. This might help with the app slow response time.
