My Question or Issue

In the last few days, my spotify on pc has been crashing after playing a song for about 15-20 seconds. I finally installed the new version, but that only brought up more problems: Spotify is not loading anything at all now. It's not only that it won't play songs, it is also not loading any playlists (not when I open them and it's not even loading the list of playlists), albums, or even my account. I tried to fix it with literally any fix I could find, but nothing worked. Any time I try to open any of the suggested playlists on the home page, it just loads and loads forever only for it to come up with an error. The app literally does not work at all.

It's not an account issue, spotify works fine on my phone, and when I tried making an antierly new account, the same thing accured.

I've tried everything, from logging out and logging back in, to deleting it, to even using the web player (which has never worked previously, but back then it didn't matter because the app worked) and now I cannot use spotify on my pc at all. Please help with this as it is extremely annoying and I cannot find a solution anywhere

Hi @florianjacobs

I've got a few steps that may fix this problem. Since you're having issues with the desktop app AND the web player, let's start by clearing your host files.

Please follow these steps.

Next, please clear your browser's cache and cookies.

I will provide instructions for Chrome, but most browsers follow a very similar process.

1. Make sure you're on the newest version of Chrome. Click on the hamburger menu and go to Help > About Chrome.

Chrome will auto-update if there is one available.

2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies. On the sidebar, on the same update page, click on Privacy and security, and Clear browsing data,

Click on the advanced tab, and select Cookies, Cache, and Hosted app data with the time range set to all time.

3. Restart Chrome by clicking on the hamburger menu and clicking Exit.
