[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

I want to add my vote to this request. I'm so tired of Spotify putting things on the home page I don't want and cannot get rid of. Please stop making compulsory playlists and let us remove and rearrange the home page to get rid of stuff we don't listen to.

Not sure if this is a test feature or not, but with the most recent update to the iOS app I’m now able to long press a podcast/album/song on my home page and it gives me an option to select “Not interested” and it disappears off the page! Both on the grid at the top of the start page and the curated sections throughout the Home Screen. I opted “not interested” for every episode in “Episodes for you” and the whole row disappeared. It doesn’t work for Daily Mixes but I thought this was a big step forward in user customization and I’m very happy with it, wondering if anybody else has this feature yet as well.

I just went to the app on my iPhone and put my finger on "For You"—which actually had nothing in it but an image of a microphone—and was able to tap "Show less of these" and it removed it.  There is also a segment called "Uniquely Yours." Most of what is in it I have listened to  and like, but one icon is "Spotify's Morning Show" called "The Get Up." It says "Made for Mathis".  Nothing in the list looks like anything I'd be interested in.  I held my finger on it and chose "Not Interested" and it says "We'll show you less of these."

There's also a section called "Today's Biggest Hits" and it had a few playlists in it that are not my genre.  I tapped them and chose "Not Interested" and it went away.

Maybe they have gotten the hint and have done something about it, now.

I then logged into my account on my PC and the ones I selected "Not Interested" are gone from it.

However, there are a few things there that aren't in the app that are on the PC that I can't get rid of from the browser.  Of course, that might be because I'm no longer subscribed.

Since I haven't listened to any Podcasts, at this time, there are none listed.

Overall, it looks like they have finally listened.

I can't afford to resubscribe right now, but will start listening on my phone to see what happens with the advertisements.

Thanks so much @jxcobs and @mathisbrogers! I just tried it, and it worked! I went to the iOS app, long pressed on the only podcast under “Your Shows” (which has been at the top of my Home tab ever since I listened to one episode forever ago), and tapped on the new “Not Interested” option, which wasn’t there before. It made the whole section finally go away! I’m not sure if this is available on other platforms or the website, but I’m super glad this is finally possible at least on iOS.

Wow, a miracle!

tried the "not interested" under Android. Works too. However the app threatens to remove only for 90 days. see Screenshot.

I consider this to be a work around only.

I still want a full category customizing.

**bleep** I can’t believe it worked. Thanks for the fix that should have been implemented years ago

@xx17

There's no time limit on the iOS devices.  And I haven't found an option to do it on the web browser.

Once I delete podcasts it does just repopulate them next time I open the
app. And then they start sneaking in on the other rows and also as
individual episodes.

So it looks like to get rid of podcasts you would literally have to
manually decline every single one until they run out.

But I’m willing to do this, it’s better than nothing.
