[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

As a Premium subscriber using the iOS app, I find it frustrating that my Home screen is occupied by sections I have no interest in, such as Podcasts or Radio. While the desktop app feels more personalized, the mobile app pushes these irrelevant categories aggressively.

I'm requesting a feature to customize the Home screen by hiding or toggling off specific sections. Premium users should have the control to keep their interface focused on the music they love, rather than being forced to see categories they don't use. Please give us the option to opt-out of these "pseudo-ad" content blocks.

I completely agree. "Picked for you" is just another version of ads. We pay for premium for a reason. I don't think I've ever had a picked for you that's relevant to me or actually something I want. Even if it was, I still wouldn't want the feature. Spotify, why did you implement a new idea to add the "not interested" feature with only 3K+ votes, but you won't implement this idea for a customizable home screen aka turning off suggestions and picked for yous, with over 15K votes? What's the point of voting?

onlytocomplain

Yeah, what is the point of voting (and actually the whole community), if the most popular ideas are being ignored?

I canceled the subscription and I also took the app off my phone due to
it's DOD contracts and how many people report mental health related
paranoia due to the app add songs and context to people's libraries -
getting to that point where I don't care anymore.

With the latest jump in premium cost (ugh, again seriously?) I want to be able to customize my home page.  If you are going to charge me more (again) I want more control over my home page.  I don't need things I am not interested in shoved at me.

Edit

Well, this got merged with the point of burying it I guess?  15,000 + votes and Spotify has decided "not right now".  Tell me you don't care about what you customers want without telling me .....

@Jtiegs, I cancelled my premium account in January 2022 after having it for 11 months. These issues have been "Not at this time" since before I joined in 2021. Since they don't care what the "Valuable" customers want/need, the best thing everyone can do is just cancel their account, delete the app, and go somewhere else. I'm only still receiving notifications to see if they ever "Listen" to their customers who still put up with them not listing to what their "Valuable" customers want/need.

I'm actually in the same boat, I cancelled in October 2021 and have probably bought a hundred CDs since then. It's amazing how CDs just play what you tell them to instead of switching on the radio at random and ordering trash from amazon

The algorithm that updates the homepage with the albums/artists we listen most doesn't always work great; it would be good to be able to edit and have the freedom to add whatever we want there.

I think that there should be a way to customize the home layout, like being able to have only music there, but not lilke the layout of the music tab. There should be an option to hide podcasts and audiobooks since sometimes I (or us users) would only like to see the music we listen to
