This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

So Spotify just announced that they are surpassing Apple on podcast content consumption. BECAUSE they are shoving it down people's throats and probably because they are counting seeing it/clicking and not actually listening to a single damn podcast. What this translates to, is they will be more aggressive with this trash they call a feature.

I FUKKKIN HATE PODCASTS ever since they started back with the iPod, they are just recorded talk shows, interesting to a few people. but I hate talk shows. Jesus christ, I came to Spotify way back when for MUSIC, not for TALK SHOWS.  Look at the regular FM radio stations, only a few are Talk Radio, the huge majority are MUSIC, that's for a f'ing reason

 

But Spotify has invested way too much on exclusive podcasts, and needs to justify it, and also because of the new flash fad of Clubhouse, they want to push talk shows/podcasts on us.  It's disgusting, self-serving behaviour.

look at this madness as soon as I opened the app.  I listened to something for a few minutes a while ago, now its' completely flooded my first row.  Imagine it was something about mental health or about pregnancy or some other private thing, and I opened the app in front of other people.  This is fKKING ridiculousI hope somebody sues Spotify for this, where someone opens the app in front of someone else, something like I'm sure will happenI hope somebody sues Spotify for this, where someone opens the app in front of someone else, something like I'm sure will happen

I would love to be able to delete songs or playlists from my shortcuts and recently played. I try to keep an aesthetic with my playlists but my friends ruins it.

Seriously annoys me how in the age of personalization, Spotify seems to totally ignore the person and serve generic region-based garbage. Not something I expect from a "premium" service.

They seem to have forgotten they are a music service first. All about the
podcasts which has no cost to them.

Freaking Justin Timberlake greets me in Spotify home screen every day, only because my kid wanted to hear one of his song on TV, where my account is setup... I'm now afraid what my wife is going to say when she sees that.

This is ESPECIALLY annoying for CarPlay!  The top 4 shortcuts COULD be so useful!  Please fix this!  Or at least make my liked songs the first thing.  One of them is a podcast I listened to once. last year.
