Option to disable Smart Shuffle

Yes, yes, I know there already exists multiple threads related to this issue, but since Spotify haven't fixed this issue (yes, I'm naming it an issue because that's what it is) I figured I'd just create yet another thread to show my dissatisfaction regarding this matter.

So to sum things up: I - just like what seems like the half of the globe - would like to be able to DISABLE SMART SHUFFLE.

Kind regards,

What that guy said about smart shuffle having advertiser value makes sense.  I reckon spotify will be thinking of a new way to get this forced shuffling into our playlists before giving us the ability to turn off the current smart shuffle.  They wouldn't want to lower the value of Shopify to investors.

Hey folks,

Just jumping in here with a new image to better understand what each of the playback buttons mean:

Cheers 🙂

That is not helpful @Ivelina

and if spotify does not remove or disable smart shuffle option (wich i prefer) at least change the color of it ; on your mobile phone (with my bad eyes) it is almost not directly visible if smart is on or not : eg

smart shuffle : green color

normal shuffle : blue color (or other color for color blind people but not green 🙂

I haven't met a single person who doesn't hate the smart shuffle feature. If Spotify did some kind of survey the results would clearly indicate that it needs to go.

Remove the smart shuffle feature from the app

The reason I don't like it is, I can't be distracted while listening to a playlist while working. I want it on shuffle, but if smart shuffle creeps in/on (which it seems to do for some shady reason), and I hear a song I like, the distraction has me go back to Spotify to see if I've had it in my playlist already or if I have to add it. This is more of an issue than it sounds!

I can't believe what I'm seeing here, non-premium users get a better shuffle experience simply by the fact that they don't even get Smart Shuffle, let alone have to press twice for regular shuffle! Ridiculous, this on top of removing "Create similar playlist" and the shuffle/loop buttons having intermittent issues on mobile, does anyone competent work for Spotify anymore? Should I take my business elsewhere?

i didn't even know that smart shuffle is mandatory for the free service. to me the fact that I now always have to click the shuffle button twice to not be exposed to ads is almost just as obnoxious, though
