Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

I loved the touch preview. It was what i loved about Spotify. It’s such a great way to find music quickly and I’m so sad it’s gone. Please bring the feature back!!!

Okay, then create an option in settings to turn it on for those people who actually used it. I already got used to it and this sucks. 

Just because most people don’t use it, it doesn’t mean that the feature is not great.

I am headed over to cancel my account right now. Thanks for nothing, Spotify! Usually companies ADD features for their subscribers, not remove them. I am moving to Apple's Music. Not that it's lots better or anything, but this arrogance makes me so angry. How many people have to comment here before you put it back? Won't sit around waiting. This is insulting. Was this feature asking for food or something? Shame on you. Unsubscribing now!

Really disappointed that this went away. I assumed it’s disappearance was a bug that would be fixed in a future release. Unfortunately that’s not the case. My friends and I are all missing this feature tremendously. It was a crucial part of how and why I use Spotify. This is a very silly decision if you ask me. 

 

Instead of removing it due to “low engagement,” it would have made a lot more sense to implement the feature on Android and mention that the feature exists. A simple on-screen tip would have solved the problem. Everyone that I’ve shown the feature to in the past (actually a lot of people) were always like, “whaaat that’s amazing.” 

 

We are all begging the Spotify team to re-consider the removal of this feature.

Please bring the touch preview feature back. It was the reason for many of us choosing Spotify over Apple Music.

 Serious note-

 

Advancing or Enhancing the experience of a user application should only result in the removal of a feature if it is causing huge problems to the servers or if the feature is not working how it should.  Even if only 5% of the users actually make use of the feature, you should not take that privilege away from them as it will push them away from your platform.

It had low use because you never advertised it, nobody knew about it, I used it all the time, it was one of the best features about the app.
