[iOS][Discover] Restore Touch Preview on iOS App

Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

When I found out about this I immediately reset my iPhone, uploaded my most recent backup and haven’t upgraded the app since... so for now I have and use the feature EVERYDAY and hoping, actually  preying Spotify will come to their senses and bring this feature back. It really is that good! Something tells me they are not being honest to the reason WHY they discontinued it!

It was unfathomable that they would take away features instead of adding them. I’ll say it again. They dump millions of dollars into features like Spotify connect and sync for Ford, but when it comes to simple features they do not care. Why on earth would you remove a feature that doesn’t cost any extra to keep?

This was my main **bleep**ing way of finding one of the only things still sacred in my whole **bleep**ing life and now it’s gone. You’re getting a bad review feom me Spotify.

I just sent detailed instructions to Apple as a feature request. For those of you that feel your voice is going unheard here try sending your request to Apple at www.apple.com/feedback 

somehow, someway, we’ll see this come back and if Apple gets it working with force touch then there you go!

Wow, really disappointed in the decision to remove the preview feature. It was a real differentiator between Spotify and other music apps.

Came looking for answers why touch preview hasn't been work and disappointed to see it was removed. 

Why can't this be an optional setting? If the UI team has another idea for using the long press they can give users the option of choosing which action a long press on a song happens. 

I'm hoping this feature is reinstated ASAP, it was awesome for to discovering new music.

Please bring this feature back. Im not sue what the big issue is to leave this feature in the app? you clearly already have the code developed for this.
