[iOS][Discover] Restore Touch Preview on iOS App

Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

i think you will find it wasnt used much because people were not aware it existed.

This needs to be restored ASAP I’m using the app less due to not discovering new songs through this way. I was planning on buying premium but I will not until this is implemented

I really enjoyed the long touch preview feature. I used it frequently to browse through potential songs I thought I might enjoy. It was considerably faster to preview a bunch of songs when searching for new music to listen to. It would make me incredibly happy to have this feature back when using the iOS app. Thanks!

This was such a great feature.  I can only imagine the motivation to remove was to prevent paying royalties for each previewed song. If not, why remove??

I bet that’s the reason. Maybe just be honest and tell us the real reason why so we can stop wondering why something so in demand was taken away

I feel this should be readded as I felt it made the Spotify app superior to many other apps in previewing music, and it almost feels like there was a glitch or something with "low engagement rate" of this feature, because everyone that I knew used this feature and loved it

After so many dissatisfied comments, Spotify still does not solve it. What is the problem to get it back in the next update? This feature was incredibly helpful when I listened to my playlist a hundred times and wanted to find some new songs.

I suspect this was costing Spotify $$$ as they'd have to pay out when a song was previewed.  It would be helpful for Spotify to come clean with what's really going on as clearly folks really like this simple feature.
