[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Wow I love that MacRumors has picked this up – thank you MacRumors!

This really is unbelievable, I just find it so hard to believe that this request is just being completely ignored. I don't think I've ever contacted a company about an issue and received exactly no response, especially after a year and a half! Really speaks volumes about Spotify's customer service.

Spotify... This is childish.

You complain and complain about Apple's "anti-competitive" practices. But when they finally provide a level playing field where you can natively integrate with Homepod and Siri, you refuse? It is childish and embarrasing.

I have canceled my Spotify and switched to Apple Music. Hope many others do the same until Spotify gets their act together.

Unsubscribed to spotify and moved to apple music until this feature is implemented.

Thanks for considering this feature. I look forward to seeing the release announcement so that I can come back!

Does anyone think we can get Adele to tell them to do this since they apparently listen to her (ahem money)

Spotify is pathetic, I hope a HUGE PR storm comes from this.

Another fun "feature" they added was the inability to get rid of some of the podcasts that you may have accidentally subscribed to.  There's a forum post about this as well.  Clearly they ONLY care for the payola, that's what drives them to add "features" to their app.

Oh but it's probably Apple's fault.

So far I've been a huge fan but this is just disappointing!

Super disappointing 😞 Last update was months ago. I thought the company I work for (as a software engineer) is slow to adopt new technologies but wow, this here is embarrassing, and well, sad.

I'd rather use Spotify because I've been using it since the very beginning, but with lossless music and native HomePod support in Apple Music - you guys are making it harder and harder...

103 pages, Spotify what the **bleep**?

You complained months ago about Apple's lack of openness to third-party music apps. Now that Apple is giving you the ability to implement a feature on their devices, back off. Why?

Spotify, the clock is ticking.  Once my free Apple Music sub expires, I will be cancelling family Spotify and moving to Apple music unless you at least implement decent Airplay2 support.  Spotify is unlistenable on Homepods because of dropouts on Airplay, and I'm not paying for 2 music streaming services.  I'm sad to leave.  Please grow up and behave in the interests of your customers.
