[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

It’s been 5 months, almost a half year since this met their vote requirements and this integration still isn’t done? I work at a much smaller company with smaller teams and resources and integrations like this take far less time.

Seems more like they’re never doing it, since they’re the only major service not to since HomePod supported it. In a house full of Apple products, I guess it’s time to switch to Apple Music instead.

Come on already, Spotify!

I just recently switched over from Apple Music. I’ve noticed there’s no AirPlay 2 Support in-app & also there’s no native HomePod support. Instead I have to tell Siri on my iPhone to play something and then manually connect to my HomePods. Most of these features were announced awhile ago by Apple, so what is taking so long?

I’ve come to this conclusion that this is a poor attempt at a power play from Spotify with us and our subscriptions as the pawns. They obviously want something from Apple who won’t budge and think they can hurt them by not supporting the HomePod. To Spotify - my apple ecosystem is worth more than a few playlists, and you’re the one that’s going to get binned. Tried so hard to stick with you all this time (since the start) despite the thousands of free trials apple keep continuing to offer to me, but this is the line. 103 pages of comments and you don’t even have the decency to be straight with us, that says waaaaay more than anything else, your ego is too big….

I have just switched my family account on Spotify to Apple Music. Used an app called SongShift to migrate playlists pretty seamlessly. This missing feature of native support for HomePod has been quite frustrating, and the experience now on native Apple Music is brilliant.

I bet them not implementing this (obviously not well desired) feature has ZERO to do with this:

SPOTIFY, if you were just truthful with your customers... nope it's better for us to create rumors and spread bad PR.

What the **bleep** Spotify?!
as said by others before, I have an iPad, mac, Apple Watch and more…I love Spotify, have been a customer for years and have introduced it to many of my friends early on. But there is no way I’m giving up all the convenience of my apple ecosystem for just music when Apple Music has become increasingly competitive in its offerings. This is not a powerplay you can win so be smarter and listen to your customer requests.
you certainly have the capabilities to integrate native HomePod support. I’m not going to wait any longer…or, at the very least have the courage to issue a statement that this feature will never become available so customers don’t need to hang on to some glimmer of hope

A shame this is taking so long.
