[Desktop] Spotify won't resume after pause with bluetooth headphones

I'm unable to resume after i pause the music for a few minutes with my headphones over bluetooth.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app and all devices fully up-to-date.

Thanks!

Should I start looking for another music platform? Spotify is useless with BT headset on win10.

I have been having the same issue for about a month. I originally tried all the other suggested solutions, turned off hardware acceleration, clear cache etc but none of it solved it. I would always have to quit Spotify and restart and it would happen again shortly later. I didn't realise it was the bluetooth headphones which might be impacting it. Just confirmed it definitely is as if I just turn the headphones off and click play its back working again immediately. What is going on??? Please fix this as I am sick of quitting out of Spotify 20 times a day when I am working, especially in the current situation working from home. I am 100% cancelling my membership and moving to another provider if its not sorted soon.

@sdaly91 You can freely cancel your subscription as spotify ain't fixing anything any time soon. This issue is ongoing for three years in the world where everything is going wireless ever since airport were released.

If I wasn’t paying my friend like $2 for family plan, I’d have canceled spotify long time ago

3 years later and still no fix 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've been having this problem for almost a year now. After I pause Spotify for at least 10/20 mins, I get "Can't play the current song". I have to either restart Spotify or reconnect my Bluetooth Headphones which is faster.

Returning to this thread because I'm staying somewhere else for a while, and the problem is persisting with their Echo Dot speaker.

Spotify, when are you going to address this? It is so incredibly frustrating and we're raising it here, we're raising it in DMs on Twitter...

PLEASE can you address this issue?

Luke1109

I'm also getting the "Can't play the current song".

Things that fix it:

  1. Restarting the application (not acceptable)
  2. Reconnecting the bluetooth headphones (not acceptable)

  • Device: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017)
  • OS version: macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6
