Gear icon in Your Episodes is unresponsive

We’re seeing reports that the gear icon in Your Episodes section becomes unresponsive when clicked on.

 

This seems to affect the Android mobile app only.

We have good news from our tech team - this is now fixed! Just make sure to update your app to the latest version 🙂

I've been trying to find a solution to a problem with the app settings and this is the closest thing I've found. I cannot access the settings to turn on the auto remove feature. I tried restarting my phone (android), uninstall the app, checking for updates (none), and clearing the cache. The cog icon is there, but I try pressing it and it does nothing

I'm having the same issue, clicking the gear icon does nothing. And podcasts I've listened to aren't being removed from Your Episodes. 

 

Also, weirdly, the New Episodes button was removed last week but is now back?!

My Question or Issue

Since the last update, the new episodes tab came back to the Spotify client. But now the option/settings button in the podcast folder is no longer working, as well as the auto delete feature. I tried it on all my devices on the app, as well as the browser. When will this get fixed?

Same here, in addition, instead of auto playing podcasts in my download queue, it will play podcasts I haven't subscribed to. Hope this isn't the beginning of the sh!tifcation of Spotify.

I am also experiencing this issue. Not only am I not able to access the settings and tapping the gear icon does nothing, but my podcast episodes no longer follow the settings I had set to have a finished episode automatically deleted and removed from "your episodes". I am having to manually mark each as finished, remove download (with a confirmation screen each time), and remove from "your episodes". This began at the same time as the non-responsive settings issue so I assume they are connected.

I have a paid subscription - same issue happening, uninstall and reinstall doesn't fix. Samsung Galaxy S24+. also Samsung Tab8 same problem.

I reached out to customer support via chat about this issue a couple of days ago. They sent it to the "Escalations Team, which is the highest level of Customer Support at Spotify." They're working on the issue and said to be sure auto-updates are applied in the Play Store. So hopefully we'll see a fix soon!

Nothing helps, I even factory set my phone.
