Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

Hey there, folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We're happy to announce that the queue playback should now be functioning properly for everyone running app version 9.0.8 (iOS and Android) and 1.2.53.440 (desktop). If you don't see the update on your end just yet, rest assured it's coming your way in the next couple of days.

To ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app.

If you're still having trouble with playback or anything else, you can post a new thread in the relevant Help board here.

Cheers 🤘

My Question or Issue

Same like the others, whenever I try to queue a song, it doesn’t. Current song plays and as it finishes, if ads are to play, they get played and then the queued song doesn’t play at all

the only way i can listen to songs is if i click on them but still it doesn’t reproduce the next song in line, also it doesn’t reproduce the songs of my private playlist.

Hey there, thanks for asking in the Community! 🎵

If I understand correctly, the next song in your queue does not play automatically. Could you try performing a clean install of the Spotify app? It tends to fix most such issues. Please check out this article for more: How to perform a clean install?

Also, try to reproduce this issue on the Desktop app or the Web Player. You can also share a screen recording of the problem along with your app and mobile software version.

Let me know how it goes. 🙂

Album will not play through even without the "Add to queue" function. Just clicking play for an album, it will only play one song at a time, and just stay on song without going to the next track. The little "equalizer" display to the left of the track still moves as if music is still playing, but that's not the case. Song ends...but it thinks it's still playing.
