Recently played artists section not updating

We've been seeing reports from users that the recently played artists on their profile are not updating, while recently played in listening history is working as expected.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

Thanks for all your replies and for the info shared.

It’s been a while since we received your news on this one. We’d like to check if this continues to happen. If yes, we’d recommend you make sure:
  • You’re playing the tracks all the way through.
  • The songs are not part of a playlist you've excluded from your taste profile.
  • You’re not using the Private session feature.
If you’ve checked the above, but this persists, then we’ll need you to be more specific when posting here. That way, our tech team can continue investigating this behavior.

If you encounter this issue, please send us:
  • A video recording in which we can clearly see you’ve taken the steps mentioned above, but this continues. You can attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google Drive and make them public, so we can visualize them.
  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you’re running there.
  • All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

@AlejaR thank you for your response. Isn't a video recording a bit of a stretch? What if we can't? Can't you just trust your users, even more if they've done an account on this particular community website to report this?

 

I'm having the same problem as everyone else, my recently played artists haven't changed since the 24th-25th of January. I remember those specific dates because of albums coming out that I played a lot, then stopped after two days. They haven't changed a bit despite me listening to fulls songs, being very careful about the instructions that you gave... Nothing changes, and this across all my devices.

UPDATE / February the 21st

I solved it in a strange way, and this might not satisfy everyone, but it sure helped reinitialize something.

All that was needed was listening to... a full podcast. I'm not joking. I went to sleep and listened to "Nothing Much Happens" (which I normally do on another app). The next morning, I tried listening to something different on another app. The podcast does appear in my recommendations, but it's not as bothersome as having this section stuck for weeks. Hope this helps!
