[iOS] Playlists appears empty

We're seeing reports that some users are unable to see songs in playlists - both on their own playlists and in Spotify-curated playlists.

This seems to be affecting iOS mobile devices only.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your patience while this was being looked into!

We have good news from our teams - the issues with playlists appearing empty on iOS should now be fixed! We're also happy to see more confirmations from you that things are working after trying the workaround with changing language settings.

Should you experience an issue with similar symptoms on Android, make sure to check this thread for more details, as we'll be locking this iOS related thread.

Cheers 🙂

I’ve had this issue since April 28th on mu iPhone 14 Plus, and seemingly nothing has been done. I get told over and over to follow the same steps; uninstall the app, turn off and on my phone, and then reinstall and nothing ever happens. I’ve been doing these steps like twice a day every day. What kind of progress is being done at Spotify cause every time I talk to someone from Support, they “guarantee” the issue will be resolved quickly.

Almost 2 weeks of this now and I’m losing my mind. Are we going to get compensation for this? At least a refund in a months subscription?

Three weeks and counting. Better be getting compensation for this. Can’t even find where to put a complaint in as I’m paying for premium. Can’t even get to my liked songs.

Same for me cannot play anything for over 2 weeks now (16 plus, UK). I’m not doing another clean reinstall when that seems to be doing nothing.

There has just been a iOS and Spotify update. I thought this was the fix but issue still exists. Has been occurring since late April.

Country: Australia

Device: iPhone 13 Pro Max

ios: 18.5

Spotify version: 9.0.42.587

My account works fine on web and other devices. Any account signed into my iPhone shows the same issues. Podcasts are unaffected. Can’t search or display any music. ALL playlists are empty.

New update came out this still no fix to the offline issue and playlist being blank. Spotify really needs to give us a free month because they are doing nothing to fix the problem

Exactly situation as has been previously described. Happened since ~3 weeks.

As a premium subscriber, Spotify customer service communication and reaction to this issue has been poor.

Very frustrating.

Hey Spotify, I don’t want to tell you how to do your job but as a software engineer it look clear to me that this is a backend server issue. Your music endpoints are returning errors (probably unauthorised) for a number of legitimate device ids. This started occurring around April 28 as reported. I’d suggest looking at any security patches or blocking of devices around that date. Stop asking for iOS and App versions as this isn’t the issue.

I’m a Premium Family member and looking to cancel my subscription soon if you can’t get your 💩 together.

One thing I’ve noticed is that podcasts still play and content on the podcasts tab still loads completely, while the content on the music tab does not load and playlists appear empty. Somehow the app is keeping music from loading while it’s not doing the same thing to podcasts or audiobooks.
