Cant login to old account

My Question or Issue

i've made a free account last year around june or july and i didnt really use it. Recently i tried logging in to that account again and it tells me that my email is "not associated with an active account". so now my email is associated with an account but i cant login despite me trying to change the password. I'd really like to get that account back if possible because i have some playlists from other people and stuff like that.
