So, basically, the desktop app got replaced with the web version for no apparent reason. This is very sad and if these features are not coming back i am definitely canceling my subscription and moving to tidal

Keep in mind we’re often testing app improvements and new features. This means the features that have changed on your side might be removed or modified only temporarily as a part of testing a new app design. Check out this help article for more info about our test features.
We’d also suggest you go to this Live Idea for creating a switch between the new and old design of the desktop app and add your vote to it by clicking on the +VOTE button. New ideas and feedback are important to us as they help us improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.
As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.

Our folks at Spotify have confirmed this test phase is over, but recently created Spotify accounts will keep the new app interface.
No worries, later in the year more features will be added to the interface that has been tested and probably some old features will be included in these updates too.

Spotify are you actually serious?!
I've been using your product heavily since 2014. I regularly select and add multiple songs to playlists. I cannot do this anymore and therefore cannot manage my music collection anymore.
Please fix this ASAP or I am leaving your platform.
Are you serious??? I just created this account for a username change and I have to deal with this sh***y interface forever? Fix this or I'm quitting Spotify.

If you're still seeing the new desktop experience despite having an account with us for some years, try restarting the app or logging out and back in a few times to see if that makes a difference.
In the meantime you might want to up-vote one (or all) of the ideas out there asking to bring back some of the lost features, such as:
You can also submit a new idea for any particular feature you'd like to see return in the new app design.
The Idea Exchange is the best way to provide your feedback for new features such as this one and a great way for us to see what our users are interested in and how many people like a certain idea.

This is outrageous. Ive been a Spotify user for 4 years and three weeks ago set up a new account for a fresh start, now your telling me I can't get the old interface! The new update is useless, you've gone back in time, removed all the features people actually use! If this isn't fixed soon I will have to cancel my Spotify!
The new update has basically rendered spotify completely useless with next to no features very disappointed !
