Auto crossfade problem

Is 'Genre Listing' for public playlists absolutely necessary?

I'm interested in seeing if Spotify has an option to map a playlist that you're looking to make public with all of the genre information in the background. I'm not sure if it is necessary to have it in the playlist description that I'm writing.
