[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

I've started a new idea (again) for those who believe that this is a mental health issue, not just about customisation. Not that I don't agree that the customisation is important for all users. I'm just not letting Spotify keep shoving mental health issues under the carpet after linking up with Calm to promote Mental Health Awareness Week.

If they merge it again then I'll be sending this link to all the media outlets who covered that story last year. I started the original idea because I was finding it mildly upsetting to see hacked content on my homepage. And I found out that others have far more compelling reasons to want to remove inappropriate content.

Like every other big media service, i think spotify has chosen the path of degrading into advertisements. i look towards what will come after them and hope they have some more consideration and integrity.

I am a long-time user of Spotify, back when a Swedish ISP handed out logins during the beta stage.

Anyhow, please add support to remove content, such as recently played pods or tracks.

I don't want suggested content to be based on something I only gave a few minutes of listening.

I am on a Tidal trial and thoroughly enjoying the excellent music focused
interface. Plenty of easy ways to transfer playlists.

The podcast thing in the home screen is just so so annoying when you just hate podcasts! Like... ANY podcast!

Now there are f'ing horoscopes, are you kidding me?

Running Amazon, Apple Music, Tidal side by side I realized the only thing Spotify had going for it was it's interface, suggestions; home page quick "daily mix's". Everyone carries the same songs. So now they ruined 2 of 3 things that were going for it.

My library is huge, so unfortunately I have to use Apple and Spotify at the same time, but I'm almost there. Can't wait to not be irritated by having horoscopes shoved down my throat every time I want to hear or search for a song. Or my biggest issue is having to scroll through pages and pages in carplay to get to my music.

I'll post my success and tips once I'm off to help others.

It's starting to get better, anyone else noticing this?  I now only have one row of podcasts.  Discover Weekly is the first playlist, then the first row is Made for yesboss (my username), then a row of Podcasts about future and tech, then rows of all stuff related to music I actually listen to.  And good "again" for discovering new music.

I think they've listened to us. it's getting better (but they're off the mark with the personal finance show).  What's other peoples opinions now?

I like the 'This is' playlists, and making radio stations from artists and songs.  I was going to start investigating Tidal etc. again, but I'm ok with this now.  I've been with Spotify since the very early beta versions, so I'm glad they're listening to us

That's why my post about horoscopes. I was so excited that they fixed it, until first two rows were horoscopes then more podcasts.. So no, not really fixed. Temporary.

Car Play is still a nightmare. They moved daily mix into sub menus now, 4th item from the bottom row, and the rest of the 14 items is podcasts. Nice..

But hey, if it works for you, and you don't mind paying to remove ads while still seeing podcast ads and horoscopes, I think that's ok. Maybe if they take more money they'll stop.

I'm just too far into converting my library. If I wanted to see ads, podcast ads, I would not pay for premium ad-free Spotify.

I hate Spotify shoving podcasts for me to "try" at the initial Home Screen.

Either at my smartphone or by using CarPlay.

There should be an option to make the podcasts appear or not. I love Spotify for all the songs, not podcasts. I 'm not a podcast listener.

Same here. Had a discussion about podcasts promotion with Spotify support, but they don’t ‘see’ the problem. They only see Euros.
My homescreen is completely messed up with junk Spotify is forcing on me, including unwanted podcast shows which are now prominently on second place on my homescreen. I have never listened to podcasts, the suggestions are ludicrous, about subjects I have minus 20 degrees interest in. And still it’s the first thing I see when opening Spotify.

My daily mixes, which I use, as the name suggests, daily, are now on position 14, and only 2 or 3 of them show up. It drives me mad.
My most used features are hidden from view and I cannot customize my homescreen. Suggestions for artists are way out, promoting genres or names I have never ever listened to. It is all about promoting content which is more lucrative for Spotify.

After being a premium user for 6 years, I am currently testing Deezer as an alternative. Time to vote with our feet, Spotify.

*edit* after opening Spotify on iPad just now, my ‘Speciaal voor jou’ category with my daily mixes is now completely gone. Nowhere to be found on my homescreen. The position it was showing on the last time is now appropriately taken by a  category called ‘Comedy’. Funny stuff, Spotify.696576AC-F3BB-4C60-B395-C3A7ECCC0CFA.png8163FC30-9F18-43BD-A991-F8D1A937714B.png

*edit 2, 90 minutes later*

And they are back again, on position 16, nearly bottom page on my home screen. Only.... I never listen to Blur or The Cure or George Michael, Spotify get your act together!
