This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

I get terribly grumpy when "Grow Up" podcasts appear on my home screen. I hate things like that, but they've been filling my home screen for 4 months or more. I like Spotify's music suggestions, but I really don't need a truism. Let me turn off podcast suggestions, please.

Labelled as not right now?  As of now there are 19 pages of comments and 1861 votes.  The people have spoken, they want this idea.  Are you going to be a platform that ignores their customers like your competition does?  Or are you actually going to listen to popular ideas and give your customers what they want?

 

This is an amazing idea, I would love to see this happen.

I am another one who has been agrevated by the Home Screen and the list of suggested for a long time.  However, the email advertisement and the opening my app yesterday and seeing the suggestion for a podcast from that smug a$$hole Obama and his lapboy BruceSpringstein put me over the edge and want to cancel.  I have no interest in podcasts and they are an agrevation to scroll across knowing I am only here for the music.

While out it, in all of the time I have been a family subscriber. When have I ever listened to rap so why is rap caviar on the list every week.  The State of Music today is irrelevant and depressing to see this is what some people call music,

I too agree that the should be a check list in options to display or to not display sugesstions from certain genres.   

I do appreciate the similar artist or more like xxxx. Giving a suggestion of an artist similar to I have been recently been listening.    

The search page needs to allow for rearrangement as well.  Right new I have 2 Genres at the top.  I listen to more. The it gives sugessted podcasts and the the fist genre is podcasts.  Why?  Again will never listen to a podcast.  If the list was in alphabetical order I would understand it more but who decided the order for this list?  If I want to browse a genre for Metal it is at the bottom, past Regional Mexican, Caribbean, pop and K-Pop.   Those 4 genres would not be displayed or at the bottom if the experience was truly personalized.

I can't even use spotify to play music with other people present! I don't want them to know my personal podcasts. Goes for in the Car as well since I have Carplay.. the first thing my passenger sees is an podcast about mental help. They don't need to know this.

 

How can you people not understand that this is NOT OK on so many levels??

I did not even see that they put this on "not right now". Thats it for me, I am making the switch to a different platform. I have a paying customer for years and years, everything they implement that has anything to do with recommendations has been horrible.  I just can't deal with it anymore. I am GONE!

 

The one thing that always held me back are my own playlists.. But a quick google search tells me there are programs to help you transfer everything over.

 

Problem solved. Just canceled my premium.

What a shame this won't be picked up! I pay for my subscription yet I get ads that I cannot dismiss regardless. I assumed premium would make sure I get no ads at all, so I'll be reconsidering my subscription because this is ridiculous.

 

I'm not paying to get ads, that's nuts.
